    Jaguars Avoid Letdown
    defeat Colts 38-23

After an emotional victory over the Houston Texans, the Jacksonville Jaguars were able to prevent a letdown behind the solid running of HB Maurice Jones-Drew on a night in which QB Blaine Gabbert played like he was still in his rookie year.

Jones-Drew scored on three long touchdown plays in the first half (2 rushing, 1 receiving) to help the Jaguars to 24 first half points. However, the Colts would score just enough to keep the Jaguars close, trailing only 24-16.

The second half was a stalemate for the most part until WR Cecil Shorts III returned a punt for a touchdown, giving the Jaguars a 31-16 lead. However, the two score advantage would be short-lived as a long TD pass by QB Andrew Luck on the next possession would again make the game a one score game. Nevertheless, Jones-Drew would again carry the Jaguars with a final touchdown run in the fourth to put the Jaguars up 38-23.

With the win, the Jaguars move to 3-0 on the season with a date in Cincinnati next.
