The Carolina Panthers hosted the New Orleans Saints as both teams came into their week 3 contests undefeated on the young season at 2-0. In the two previously played seasons (2012 & 2014) the home team has won every matchup between these two rivals.

This game would be no different as the Panthers top ranked defense frustrated young Saints quarterback Daniel Zagzebski, who threw his first 3 interceptions on the season, holding him to 120 yards passing on the day and an abysmal 11.1 quarterback rating. The Saints would turn to journeyman backup Tim Tebow in the 4th quarter to provide a spark, and he threw for the Saints only touchdown of the day late in the 4th quarter.

The Panthers defense was the difference once again as they forced the three turnovers and batted down balls all day long. 3rd year cornerback Wesley Orange picked off 2 passes in the game, to give him 3 for the season, and safety T.J. Ward recorded his 2nd interception of the season. Halfback Taiwan Jones ran for 2 touchdowns and 2nd year receiver Anthony Jackson, the #1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, caught his 1st touchdown of the season.

With the 24-13 victory, the Panthers move to 3-0 on the young season and are alone atop the NFC South. The Panthers will host the Vikings in week 4, before traveling to the Superdome to see if they can break the home team win streak during a rematch with the Saints in week 5.

Very frustrating game for me. Back to the drawing board. Hopefully I can give you a better challenge in New Orleans
