    Week 3 - Patriots 35 Falcons 28

Foxboro, MA -- In an attempt to get their first home win the Patriots played host to the (2-0) Atlanta Falcons. Coach Gaddy knew from early scouting reports that it would be a tough game to hold the Falcons offense in check but early on they look well prepare for the task at hand. Falcons would strike first with a 2 yard td run by Turner set up with some nice screens to get the the drive moving. Falcons defense would then hold the Patriots on a 3 and out on their first possession with heavy pressure on Brady. Falcons look poised to take a commanding lead in the game as they drove again into the Patriots red zone before Matt Ryan pass was picked off by E.Alexander. This would be all the spark needed for the Patriots offense as the drove down the field and finished the scoring drive with a 12yard TD pass to Randy Moss. A J.Norwood TD punt return would be the only offense the Falcons could generate for the remainder of the first half as the Patriots would score twice in the 2nd quarter but blew a potential field goal to close the half and went into the locker room up 21-14 instead of 24-14.

Patriots would start the 2nd half with another scoring drive to go up 28-14 as the Patriots defense seem to have the Falcons offense in check having not scored since the 2 yard run by Turner in the 1st quarter. Fourth quarter would be a different story as the Falcons offense caught their grove punching in two scores to tie the game up at 28-28 in the 4th, leaving 34 seconds on the clock for Brady. Patriots offense would struggle connecting deep to move the ball into field goal range in what would seem to be pushing the game into a deciding overtime. On the last play of the game Brady would throw up a hail mary pass in a crowd which Galloway would come down with the ball amongst five players and take it to the house for the score as the crowd at Foxboro erupted.

With all the heat Brady was seeing all game and the shots he took the Falcons never sacked him as Matt Ryan was sacked 3 times (2 - A.Thomas). Patriots defense played solid containing the screen pass with great open field tackles and swarming to the ball. Brady looking more in tune with the offense, was able to make sharp reads against the Falcons defense as he connected with 9 different Patriot receivers.

Wajo has wanted this rematch for a while now and in Year 3 he finally got his wish. This is a reminder from last time we played but I'm quite sure those Cowboys are far different and far more aggressive that his old Falcons. Should be another close game.

Bringing up some old ghosts are you Gaddy? Cowboys are focused on beating skins at the moment. Next week you get all our attention.
