Week 3 Summaries

    Auburn Gets First Win

    Puts on an AIR SHOW!

In a game that started on the ground for the Tigers it was the passing game that lead to an explosion..

Auburn faced fellow SEC member Mississippi State at home.

The Tigers got the ball to start and didnt waste any time trying to heart attack kids.. on the first play from scrimmage, much like last week vs CMU, McCalebb put the ball on the ground. But the Tigers managed to keep possession.. and got on the board early 7-0.. The Auburn Defense played well and forced a 3 and out.. Auburn using an option attack to hit the premiter had the pitch picked off and returned 40 yards for the TD 7-7.. neither team would score again in the qtr....

in the 2nd qtr Auburn again went to the air when Thomas Darrah found Peter Lutzenkirchen open from 3 yards out..14 -7 and then passing onslaught began.. after forcing MSU to turn over the ball Darrah went deep connecting with D. Winter down the left sideline for 77yards and the TD. 21-7. MSU would respond with 10 points of its own before the break to bring the score to 21-17 at the break.

MSU wasted no time in striking back at the Tigers. when Relf found Smith deep down the right sideline in a broken coverage. 24-21.. Darrah would again lead the tigers down the field capping of the drive with an 8yrd TD pass to Winter. 28-24. MSU would turn the ball over after getting deep in Auburn Territory. Darrah brought the passing attack back out with the offense. Connecting with 6 different recivers on the way down to a McCalebb 4yrd run. 35-24. Again MSU would hand the ball back to Auburn who would waste no time in passing the ball down the field. before connecting with @ Carr from 19yrds out 42-24 after 3.

MSU would come charging back with a TD run of its own, but the Bulldogs couldnt get the 2pt. 42-20.. Darrah took auburn down the field quickly when he connected with TE Ransom from 41yards out giving the Tigers a comfortable 49-30 lead with 3mins left. MSU would drive down the field before giving the ball up on yet another fumble. Auburn would drive down the field and on 3rd and 6 from the 14 T2 wanted to get the first down with out scoring to run the clock out. Ransom caught the PA pass at the 3 and was knocked into the endzone by a MSU player. 56-30. MSU would try to save a little face only to throw a Pick 6 finishing out the scoring 63-30. .

Coach T2's Post game press conference..

Miss made this a closer game than the score shows.. they just kept bringing the heat and left alot of our SR WRs open to make huge plays. That is what we lacked in our first 2 games. 0 Big Plays vs today we have 10 Plus big plays.. and any time you force 5 2nd half turnovers its tough to lose..

UP NEXT FLORIDA COMES TO AUBURN.

    Stanford 2-0 After Home Opener

Stepfan Taylor and Braylon Ingram celebrate a touchdown

After last week's thrilling come from behind win at New Mexico, the Cardinal removed the drama before halftime. On the last play of the half, J.R. Patterson hauled in Andrew Luck's Hail Mary to make the score 28-7, with all 4 of the Cardinal touchdowns coming on Luck passes. Luck would be pulled with the rest of the starters at the end of the 3rd quarter having passed for 242 yards and 5 touchdowns. Stanford had a very balanced attack, rushing for 258 yards and passing for 242. Several freshman starred for Stanford in their 1st game in Palo Alto.
Ben Hill caught 5 passes for 80 yards scoring his 1st 2 touchdowns of his career. Braylon Ingram carried the ball 17 times for 165 yards and caught 4 passes for 41 yards. Corey Wright got his 1st interception.
Stanford improved to 2-0 and face a tough test when they open Pac-10 play next week at home against the #17 USC Trojans.

    UCLA @ NEVADA

The wolfpack looked to continue their win streak especially in their home opener against a Pac-10 powerhouse.

    1st QTR

The wolfpack get on the board first with a 15 yard pass from SR QB C.Louks to Soph TE R.Monroe. This drive was setup after the defense made a big opening drive stop.

UCLA would answer right back with a 90 yard TD run. Coach was pissed after this play considering the RB broke 2 arm tackles.

    7-7

    2nd QTR

UCLA now had the momentum and drove down the field and scored with a 21 yard pass. Nevada would answer with a FG. With less than a minute left beofre the half Nevada would pass 41 yards from Louks to SR WR B.Wimberly for the TD. Nevada would force another turnover and with time expiring would score another FG.

    20-13 Wolfpack

    3rd QTR

C.Louks would find Wimberly again for another long 40 yard TD pass.

    27-13 Wolfpack

    4th QTR

Nevada now had full momentum and scores a 58 yard run by JR RB J.Fogerson.
Then score on another FG. On the ensuing kickoff FR FS G.Dotson would make a huge hit on the returner....

which got scooped up and returned for the TD.

    Buffalo 16 Pitt 14

Buffalo survived over 200 return yards by Jonathan Baldwin to win this game. Peter Fardon kicked the game winning FG with 3 seconds left on clock.

Buffalo is now 3-0. No word yet on if the chicken wing ban has been lifted.

    Temple is next.

    LTU vs. Idaho

    Team 1st 2nd 3rd 4th TOT
    Idaho 00 00 00 08 08
    LTU 07 14 07 00 28

    1st Qtr

LTU efficiently moves the ball down the field on their first possession and HB L. Creer scores from 6yds out. Idaho fails to convert on two third downs in the qtr.
End of 1st Qtr Score : LTU 7 Idaho 0

    2nd Qtr
Idaho sniffs out a 3rd and short PA and gets a pick inside LTU territory. Here's the highlite...

The next series of downs for Idaho sums up the day. On 3rd and 1, freshman QB Justin Terry gets stuffed on an option before the play can develop. Terry was in on this series after starter Brian Reader went to the sidelines with a minor injury. The Vandals sent for a 49 yd FG which clanked off the upright and missed... giving LTU decent field position. The Vandals feel as if this series shifted the momentum and they never recovered. LTU went to the air connecting with Cruz Williams a couple times before HB L. Creer scored his 2nd TD of the day, this time from 7 yds out. The very next possession, Vandal wideout Preston Davis juggled a catch, fumbled the ball and LTU ran it in for a TD... Here's the highlite...

Half Time Score : LTU 21 Idaho 0

    3rd Qtr.

Idaho came out looking to run a more controlled offense, focusing on touches for HB Princeton McCarty. Midway thru the drive, LTU sacked QB Reader on consecutive plays, once again snuffing Idaho's momentum. LTU took advantage of two freshman in the Vandal secondary on their next possession, finding WR H. Tuminello wide open for a 63 yd Td pass.
End of 3rd Qtr Score : LTU 28 Idaho 0

    4th Qtr
Idaho finally scores on a QB keeper from 3yds out, but the game was too far gone. The game grinded itself out... neither EVO Heisman hopeful, LTU Cruz Williams, or Idaho's Princeton McCarty had a heisman type day... but they both were productive.

    Final Score : LTU 28 - Idaho 8

GG drunken. LTU defense was just blowing my OLinemen off the ball. I hope to be more competitive next year with more experienced OLinemen.

    Key STaTz
    - EVO Heisman match-up

    Idaho HB - Princeton McCarty - 15 att - 46 yds - 0 TDs

    LTU WR - Cruz Williams - 5 rec - 80 yds - 0 TDs

Wsu has issues right now. Starting Hb is out for 3 weeks and Starting qb is out for 10 weeks. Yet Wsu pulls off the upset of oregon 21-19 as a 2 point conversion by oregon failed and Wsu was able to run out the clock.

Thank-u Nevada for making a crappy turd look less shiny lol

Nice win man! Those injuries must suck man. Did they occur in the Oregon game? I'm sure you'll finish strong solely based on your skills using the sticks.

LOL You're welcome ND, anyway I can help just let me know bro :D

Nice summary Milmont, here a couple of highlights from our game.

First was an Idaho WR Screen play that went horrible wrong and ended in a LA Tech TD.

This TD put LA Tech up 28-0 in the 3rd quarter.
