Bama Pulls away from Penn St.

    #15 Penn St. 35 vs. #1 Alabama 63

This game was a shoot out from the start. Penn St. taking the field for the first time this season was well rested and had no 1st game jitters. The teams traded times scoring going tit for tat all the way to 35-28 at the half. And 42-35 into the 3rd quarter. Bama would continue to score thanks to a couple on INT's by Penn St. that sealed the deal.

Cause for alarm in true HB Mark Ingram style he was injured on 3 different occassions in the game. He finished the game with only 75 yards rushing.

The defense for Alabama made some big play on D but for the most part couldn't stop a relentless Penn St team. The Nitny Lions mixed it up well. At one point pulling off back to back screens for big gains!?!?

WR Julio Jones and QB Star Jackson lead the Tide. Jones had a TD catch and over 100 yards receiving. Jackson threw 2 picks but was able to avoid the rush and was consistently on target through out the game.

Florida State was able to top Boston College, but lost our starting QB Manuel for 4 weeks and our starting RB Thomas (top of the Heisman race) was knocked out of the game early on. Backup QB came in and struggled early but then settled down. Our backup is a pocket QB that's left handed, and the starter is a mobile right handed guy.

Defense played big with 5 guys with 10+ tackles.
