    San Francisco 49ers 38 - Philadelphia Eagles 17

    Philadelphia, PA

The 49ers came into this game looking to go 4-0, and their game plan all year has been to get the ball into Frank Gore's hands, and against Philly's suspect run defense, nothing changed in this one. The 49ers and Eagles offenses took some time to get going as it was only 7-3 at the half, but in the 2nd half both defenses were exposed a little. Towards the end of the 3rd quarter, Frank Gore ran in his 2nd rushing TD of the game from 1 yard out to make the score 17-3 in favor of the 49ers. On the next Eagles possession they were forced to punt, but not too long after that, Colin Kaepernick threw an INT to Nate Allen who undercut the route and returned it all teh way for a TD to make it 17-10. After a couple 49ers runs, Kaepernick faked the handoff to Gore and found Vernon Davis wide open streaking down the middle of the field and hit him for a 57 yard TD pass. On Philly's next possession, Vick chucked one deep to DeSean Jackson, who outran all the 49ers secondary on his way to an 81 yard TD catch. Just a few plays later for the 49ers, Kaepernick handed it off to Gore off the right side, he juked out Casey Matthews and outran everyone else for a 74 yard TD run. After another long bomb completion by Vick, this time to Maclin, the Eagles had a 2nd and goal from the Niners 4 yard line, but Vick floated one up there for newly acquired Ras-I Dowling to pick off in the endzone. With the Niners up, and just over 2 minutes to go in the game, in came speedster Noel Devine, and he took his first handoff 80 yards for a TD on the very next play to give us the final score of 38-17. There were a combined 35 points scored in the 4th quarter in this game, and both teams were getting tired on both offense and defense due to the big plays.
