Georgia bounces back after terrible performance last week

The Dawgs came out slow against Miss. St., but pulled away in the second quarter and won 52-10. Most of the Bulldogs success came from the arm of Jenkins. Once again the freshman stud made headlines for his stellar performance on the field. Coach Richt said after the game, "We may not be the strongest team, especially defensively, but we know Jenkins has played better football in 4 games then Murray played in his whole career. If Jenkins isn't on the Heisman watch next week there is something wrong with the NCAA." A strong statement made by coach Richt, but he makes a valid argument. The true freshman leads all college football QB's in passing yards with 1,198 and leads in passing td's with 14. What is more surprising is that he has only thrown 4 interceptions. Hopefully Jenkins continues his ways and keeps winning games, but the biggest question for this team is defense. They are the reason Georgia has one loss. Georgia will need its defense to step up if they want to salvage their season and play for an SEC title.

Defense Steps Up in 2nd Half
Stanford showed up to play in the first quarter. After going up 13-0, Iowa made a great stance in the 2nd quarter to start mounting a comeback. Alex Hill would connect with Cameron Wilson for a 66 yard touchdown. Iowa's defense would again step up and make another 3 and out. Iowa would drive down to the 30(?) yard line. Micheal Roberson would connect on a 40 yard field goal to end the first half 13-10. Iowa would receive the ball in the 2nd half only to score on a 83 yard touchdown pass from Hill to Ray Hamilton. On the next series for Stanford, QB Nottingham would throw a pick 6 to Nico Law. Fast forward to the 4th quarter, senior running back Jordan Canzeri would score twice one on a 2 yard plunge and a 12 yard sprint. Iowa scored 37 unanswered points from the 2nd quarter. Coach VanWesten was extremely impressed with his defense. Next week Pittsburgh will travel to Hawkeye Country.
