It was a dark day in Kent, OH. Last week's loss to Army was still stinging when the Golden Flashes received more bad news. Former linebacker Adam Collins was on pace to break the single-season tackle record in his rookie season in the NFL when things took a turn for the worse late Friday night.

A warrant was issued for Collins in connection with a drive by shooting in which 4 former players for the University of Idaho were gunned down like bitches including former quarterback, Bryan Sixmore. Collins' residence was surrounded and later members of the local SWAT team entered to find Collins well armed. Collins opened fire killing 7 members of the elite unit before he was gunned down in a glorious blaze of gunfire. He was shot 21 times and pronounced dead on the scene.

On Saturday the Golden Flash faithful had a moment of silence for their fallen linebacker. Kent St has also renamed Dix stadium to Adam Collins Memorial Stadium. In honor of Collins, the Golden Flashes took MTSU behind the woodshed for a 73-20 shellacking. All starters were pulled at halftime with a 45-7 lead.

Charlie Denman helped redeem his effort with Army as he completed 15 of 18 for 344 yards and 5 touchdowns. Oscar Robinson also had an impressive day with 24 carries for 169 yards.

Its sad becaue the same things that made hm such a great player made it impossible for him to live in society. He needed to be keep in a cage and let out only on game day.

On an unrelated note to anything else in this thread, I'm using the Nebraska Offense Playbook this year. These are the things that happen during bye weeks that only need to be said once and then forgotten.

    Carry on.

Up the difficulty eh? Thats 2 cpu losses for me in 4 games. Maybe if you pussies would run more than 6 offensive plays in a game you'd lose to the CPU every once in awhile.

My DBs are light years better buy they're only mediocre in the grand scheme of things and couldn't compete with OUs 90 ovr guys. Still, I held the Sooners to 30. I gotta get better in the trenches. I had flashbacks of FSU as OU DLmen raced, unabated, after Alford, sacking him 5 times and God knows how many hurries. Meanwhile, I only had 1 DL do anything all game and OU had all day to throw.

Lafayette - In a nasty downpour, the Idaho Vandals were able to outlast the Ragin' Cajuns 49-38.

After scoring on their first two possessions and taking an early 14-3 lead, it looked like the Vandals might run away with it similarly to last season's conference opener. But the resilient Ragin Cajuns battled back, and on the back of standout halfback Titus Cox, were able to claim a 24-21 lead going into the half.

Receiving the second half kickoff, the Cajuns seemed to be in good shape until linebacker Pat Williams dropped into coverage and snagged a Brian Landrom pass on the first play of the 3rd quarter. From there, the Vandals were able to take a 4 point lead on the back of Vandal reserve Adam Craft, who played well filling in for All-Conference HB Rashad Carrington. Throughout the second half, the teams traded blows, exchangin the lead with every score until Idaho freshman defensive end Tim Little was able to land a blow on Landrom that jarred the ball loose. With 4 minutes left in the game, Tom Freaking Merrill pounced on the loose ball. A 12 yard Adam Craft touchdown run put the Vandals up 49-38 with just 3:30 left to play. The Cajuns, however, had no trouble marching the ball right down the field. A Landrom scramble set the Cajuns up with a first and goal at the Vandal 3 yardline with just under 3 minutes left in the game. After the Cajuns' Cox couldn't get in, they tried their luck with fullback Singletary, who was stuffed on consecutive dive plays. On 4th and goal, the Cajuns tried to pass, but the Vandal defense was ready for it, and finding no one open, Landrom was sacked for the turnover, giving the Vandals the ball and an 11 point lead with about 2 minutes left in the game. A first down run by freshman fullback Tiger Dingle sealed the deal, and Brent Terry was able to take a knee in victory formation. #17 Idaho moves to 4-0 (1-0), while the Ragin' Cajuns suffer their first loss of the sesaon, and move to 3-1.

I should've lost to Texas A&M. With the game on the line and running for his life, my quarterback threw a ball to Berry, who had run his fade route out of bounds. I saw him step back in from the sideline and there was nobody around him. 60 yards later I go ahead with less than 30 seconds left.

    Divine intervention in that one.

    Army Outlasts #25 USU
    [IMG]
In another C-USA battle Army edged out the 25th ranked Utah State squad by a touchdown in week 4. Utah state played a sound defensive game, forcing Army to move the ball slowly and move the chains. They sat back and laid some punishing big hits on Army players but Army moved the chains 11 times more and controlled the clock wearing on the USU Defense late in the game. With Utah State tying the game @ the 4:39 mark in the 4th Army effectively drove the length of the field and chewed almost all of the clock, punching in a 1yd rush on the back of Juco HB Larry Clark with :36 left in the game. Utah State showed that may be too much time as they quickly made it to midfield with one or two plays left and no timeouts. One heave nearly found the receiver as all world SS Patrick Sherman seemed to get beat deep. One last heave towards the endzone was batted down after being swatted and tipped around before falling to the turf with Army squeaking by.
