Week 4 features a classic NFC vs AFC match-up between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets. Both teams claim among the best defenses in the NFL on paper and both rank among the top 10 in total defense through the first three weeks of the season.

    Last Week

The 49ers used a power run game and efficient passing from Alex Smith to notch a win against a pesky Vikings team. Frank Gore put up 88 yards on 11 carries while the Niners' defense held Adrian Peterson to 14 yards on just seven carries.

South Florida is always tough on the Jets and last week was no exception as Dolphins' rookie Ryan Tannehill threw for 372 yards and nearly picked up an upset win over their division rivals. However, the Jets defense stood tall when it mattered and coach Styck's team held on for the victory.

    Keys to the Game

The 49ers' defense ranks third in the league in total yards allowed and second in scoring. They are also tied for third in the league with seven interceptions. San Francisco will need to rely on getting pressure on Tim Tebow and using a ball control offense (101 yards per game rushing) to keep the dangerous Jets offense off of the field.

The Jets' are averaging 35.7 points per game and have been using a mix of run and pass to keep their opponents off balance. Tebow has looked sharp posting a 93.9 QB rating while throwing for 303 yards per game and tallying the team's second most rushing yards (111). Keeping Tebow upright and giving him time to work his magic will decide the Jets fate.

    What to Watch

Tebow vs the 49ers defense. Tebow is know to improvise on plays and not display the best decision making under duress. How effectively the 49ers can pressure Tebow and the ability of their linebackers to contain him will go a long way in deciding the outcome of this game.

    Line

    49ers -3 O/U 41

    Prediction

While the Jets have one of the best offenses in the league through three weeks, they have not faced a defense the caliber of the 49ers yet. Tebow has to prove he can perform when getting pressured and not turn the ball over. San Francisco's offense is capable of controlling the clock and will be ready to capitalize on any turnover the Jets' give up.

    Week 4 Player to Watch

Trent Richardson, RB Cleveland Browns Jshaver

Richardson is coming off of back-to-back 150-yard-plus games. Last week Richardson gashed the Bills for 181 yards and two touchdowns. The rookie is currently leading the league with 432 yards and is making a name for himself in his first NFL season.

Week 3 Content of the Week

Two teams that I has considered due to their Week 3 recaps, the Redskins Flyinhi2005 and Cowboys jeb4056, haven't been updated their Team Management pages  . So, this week's award goes to Kyle-702 and the Jets. Kyle's post game pic in his Week 3 recap was priceless! Thanks for the good work this week!
