Not much to see here. 28-3 at halftime after a nice half from QB Trevone Boykin. The 2nd half was just a lot of waiting for the final whistle. Akron got a consolation TD in the final minutes against the 2nd string Frog defense.

    Trevone Boykin; 16 for 25, 4 TDs, 1 INT
Dwight Smith; 19 carries for 48 yards, 1 TD

#7 Alabama narrowly escapes #15 South Carolina

    #15 SCAR - 23
    #7 Bama - 24

Alabama was scared for the second time in as many weeks. The first came in Iowa City as #7 Alabama edged past Iowa (1-1) by a field goal as time expiered and Alabama would have to do much the same against a very good South Carolina team whose only defeat previous to this game came against #2 Georgia 34-6. After the departure of QB Phillip Sims and HB Eddie Lacy, Alabama is still searching for an identity. Starting QB Blake Sims was pulled after two quarters after he had zero accuracy and threw two picks on drives that would have resulted in three points. South Carolina struck first with a 4 yard run by HB Brandon Wilds but Alabama would respond on the enxt drive with a 42 yard pass on 3rd and long from QB Blake Sims to WR Bradley Sylve to tie the game at 7-7 with eight seconds remaining in the first. South Carolina would again strike first with another TD run by HB Brandon Wilds, this time from three yards out. Alabama would drive down the field and hit a field goal to end the half with South Carolina up 14-10. South Carolina would get the ball to begin the second half and would march down the field but would have to settle for a field goal to go up 17-10. Alabama quickly responded with a 62 yard TD pass from the 5* transfer Geremy Palmer to WR Boyd Barnes to tie it up at 17-17. The next score would not come until 4:40 was left in the fourth quarter with QB Geremy Palmer tossing his second TD pass from 36 yards out to WR Marvin Shinn to go up 24-17. South Carolina marched down the field and QB Tanner McEvoy would connect with TE Dustin Campbell from 12 yards out but would fail to convert on the PAT so South Carolina would be down 24-23 with 3:07 left in the game. Alabama got the ball but failed to move the chains and had to punt. South Carolina would march down the field but Alabama would get a huge stop on 3rd and short and force South Carolina to kick a field goal that would be no game. From there, Alabama just had to take a knee to improve to 3-0 on the season where they will remain at home and take on Arkansas (1-2) who has given Nick Saban fits since his arrival.

    Alabama Leaders:
Passing: QB Geremy Palmer 7 for 18 179 YDS 2 TDS
Rushing: HB Brent Calloway 22 ATT 67 YDS
Receiving: WR Boyd Barnes 4 REC 105 YDS 1 TD

After trailing 7-3 at the end of the first quarter, Oklahoma took over and outscored the Badgers 31-0 for the remainder of the game. This dominance was due, in large part, to OU QB Blake Bell and the stout Sooner defense. Wisconsin was only able to muster 6 rushing yards and 118 yards of total offense. On the other hand, Oklahoma had 429 yards of offense and held the ball for over 20 minutes. The highlight of the game was when Redshirt Freshman HB Brad McMillan caught a screen pass, spun by a defender, and took it 72 yards to the house.
    Key performers:
    QB Blake Bell - 17-27, 331 yards, 3 TD
HB Brad McMillan - 13 carries, 46 yards, TD
HB Brandon Williams - 9 carries, 67 yards, 3 rec, 100 yards, TD
WR Brad Poole - 5 rec, 84 yards, TD

I was kinda disappointed actually, I was expecting more of a fight from them. I thought Tulsa was a tougher win than the Badgers. I'll take it though :)

It was a blowout victory as the Tigers took an early lead on a Trovon Reed 102 return on a missed field goal and never looked back totaling over 400 yards of total offense while holding KSU to under 300. Once again it was Kiehl Frazier leading the offense with over 300 yards of total offense and 5 touchdowns. HB Mike Blakely likely took over the starting spot as well this week, as he has been a much better running option than Tre Mason.

    K. Frazier - 10/18, 284 yds, 5 TD/ 0 INT

    M. Blakely - 9 att, 81 yds

    T. Reed - 3 rec, 129 yds, 2 TD. Return TD
    J. Singleton - 2 rec, 71 yds, TD

    FSU prevails over Clemson 27-24
#9 ranked Clemson visited Florida State in what turned out to be a tough battle between the 2 ACC rivals. The game could not have started any better for the Tigers as Bobby Barrett took the opening kickoff of the game 92 yards for the touchdown. After Florida State failed to muster anything on their first offensive drive, QB Cole Stoudt led the Tigers down the field and looked to extend the lead to 14. But the Seminole defense held and Clemson had to settle for a 22 yard field goal by Robert Ramirez. Florida State finally got on the board when Kelvin Benjamin caught a 10 yard slant pass for the touchdown. The touchdown seemed to give the Seminoles momentum with FSU took the lead when RB Devonta Freeman took a draw play 80 yards for the touchdown. It was a great run by Freeman who broke a couple of tackles on route to the score.
FSU added to the lead on the opening drive of the 2nd half when QB Joe Coker found TE Nick O'Leary wide open in the endzone for a 8 yard score making the score 21-10. After a Clemson turnover, FSU managed to drive inside the Clemson 5 but a running play on 3rd down fell short leading to an 18 yard kick by Aaron Newton.
Clemson cut the lead to 24-17 early in the 4th when a wide open Sam Cooper caught a 18 pass from Stoudt. The Clemson TE had a great game catching 8 passes for 134 yards with the previously mentioned touchdown. The Tigers defense ultimately forced the Seminoles to punt, getting the ball on their own 10 yard line. Stoudt threw a screen pass on 1st down to WR Martavis Bryant but FSU corner Jared Ford made a huge play forcing Bryant to fumble which was picked recovered by FSU. Newton later kicked his second field goal of the game restoring the lead to a 2 possession game at 27-17 with 1:52 left to play.
Clemson quickly drove down the field and scored a touchdown when WR Joe Craig made a great catch in the endzone with exactly 1 minute left to play but the onside kick attempt went out of bounds allowing FSU to kneel the ball to end the game.

Yes it was a good battle. My young Tigers put up a fight but couldn't finish it. The Noles made the plays when they had to. Thanks for the mixing up the plays on offense. Win or lose it was a gr8 game Sonn.

Miami gets the W over virginia tech in a close one at home. Neither team played quite well. Both teams turned it over 3 times. Some big passing plays from QB Ryan Williams proved to be the difference though. A nice win for a team trying to put together a win streak after a bad start to the season.
