    Week 4: Lions(27) Saints(24)

Lions Sneak Away With the Win

Matthew Stafford had a great day finishing with 240+ yards and 2 Tds

In a highly anticipated match up between two great teams the Lions managed to hold the Saints high powered offense just long enough for the clock to run out. The game started off with the Lions striking first off of Jack English's second interception of the season with an Aaron Brown run. The Saints struck back though as they rode Brandon Jacobs through the Lions defense like it didn't even exist.

Henderson finished the game 6 receptions and a TD

Going into the half the Lions were in the lead 14-10 and would start their first drive off with a field goal to make it a one touchdown game. This was when the English finally found his favorite receiver, Devery Henderson, in the end zone as Delmas blew his deep coverage. With the game all tied up Matthew Stafford worked his magic as the Saints defense bit on a play action and Derrick Williams was wide open in the end zone.

Derrick Williams with the go ahead touchdown

With the Saints down one score with 4 minutes left in the game they elected to go for it on a 4th and 1 from their 36 yard line. Kelly tried to take it up the middle, but was held just a mere inch or two away from the first down marker. The Lions tried to run clock and set up for a field goal as they managed to take it down to the 3 minute mark after adding three to the score.

Henderson disappointed after such a hard fought game

The Jack English and the Saints weren't done yet as they marched down the field finishing the drive with an explosive reception by Joey Keller as he trotted down the field for a 50 yard TD with 2:06 remaining. The next key moment of the game came as the Saints used their last remaining time out at the same time as the two minute warning allowing the Lions to run out most of the clock before a punt. With 28 seconds left in the game the Saints tried to run a screen to Devery Henderson, but he was hit for a loss right as he caught the ball. On a last ditch effort Jack English heaved the ball up to Henderson, who couldn't come up with it.

GG man. 5 sacks and that lil thing you do with johnson with one on one coverage was the tale of the game. I couldn't stop it those 2 big times and English was hassled all day long. you are very good with your FS, add pressure and zone defense and its almost unbeatable. I worked my tail off to stay in this game. Disappointing but there is a lot of season left.
