Both teams came into the game looking for their first win of the season. With the Raiders coming off a bye week, and the Chargers reeling from a 35-17 defeat at the hands of the Browns.

Chargers win the toss and elect to kick. Raiders would run the ball, and run the ball some more until they got to the Chargers 36 yard line, that's were Raiders rookie QB Parris hit Schilens for a 36 yd TD and a 7-0 lead. Chargers would miss a LONG FG attempt but the Raiders would turn the ball over on the next play, giving the Bolts good field position. Things were looking good for the Chargers until MLB S.Bradley picked off a Rivers pass and rumbled some 80 yds for the Raiders 2nd score of the game and a 14-0 lead.

Chargers would regain their composure and score 2 FG's in the 2nd quarter to cut the Raiders lead to 8 at 14-6. But on the ensuing kick-off, KR man J.Ford broke one to the left side and ran it back 70 yards to put the Raiders within scoring distance right before the half. With the clock ticking down, Parris hit McFadden on a screen to the right side, after breaking a few tackles McFadden found the endzone from 24 yds out to boost the Raiders lead to 21-6 at the half.

Chargers would flex their muscle in the 3rd, scoring another FG and then with Mathews busting loose for a 31 yd TD run to shrink the Raiders lead to five, 21-16. The Chargers D stepped up and completely shut down and shut out the Raiders in the 3rd quarter making this a close game going into the 4th.

The 4th quarter proved to be all fireworks, as both teams scored, and scored again. The Chargers managed to put up 14 points by way of 79 yd TD pass from Rivers to Wayne and from a 3 yd run by Mathews. The Raiders would double up, as they scored on two long McFadden runs (54 & 65 yds) and a 1 yd TD catch by rookie TE DuBose.
