The Raiders came into week 4 at mile high to face their arch rivals Denver Broncos. The Broncos were waiting with a perfect 3-0 record after beating up on the Steelers, Falcons and Texans. Up to this point Denver was relying on their defense who held all those three teams to an average of 18 points per game, as well as their running game which was tops in the league. “We knew coming in that they had a great defense and we had to try to establish our own running game early” said coach Miki after the game, and that they did. On the last two games coming in the Raiders had to lean of QB C. Palmer to win games, but on this one they finally got McFadden going, MC ran for 235 yards on 23 carries and scored 3 times to help the Raiders win for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. The silver and black was down early 21-7 on the 1st quarter after two big runs by McGhee and Dwyer, in addition to a pick 6 by CB Champ Bailey, Bailey now has 3 ints on the season to lead the Broncos. However, those were the last point the Broncos would score till late in the 3rd quarter. The big turning point came just before the half, Denver was inside the 5 yard line and on 3rd and goal they decided to throw but Peyton was sacked by Cameron Wake who forced a fumble and newly acquired LE Greg Hardy picked it up and took it 81 yards to put the raiders ahead for good.
