Ravens Overcome Injuries, Early Deficit in VictoryThe Ravens came into their game with the Browns licking their wounds. They have already lost starters Vincent Jackson, Haloti Ngata and Tererll Suggs to injuries that will keep them out for weeks. The Ravens came out to a hostile crowd in Cleveland. After forcing the Browns to punt the ball on their opening drive, the Ravens drove down the field on the legs of Ray Rice that was capped off by a 2 yard TD run by Brandon Jackson. That is about all of the good news for the Ravens in the first half. Then came the half from hell. The Browns answered the Ravens touchdown by scoring 31 straight points on a 21 yard FG by Phil Dawson, 85 yard TD pass to Percy Harvin, a 22 and 74 yard TD to Ben Tate and a 1 yard TD run by Jerome Harrison. NOTHING went right for the Ravens. From a kickoff return by Lardarius Webb that was returned by a phantom holding call to a pass that bounced off the hands of Ed Reed right into the hands of Ben Tate, the Ravens were embarrassed going into the half. You could see the frustration on Coach Link’s face. He was almost in disbelief. Coming out for the second half without their #1 receiver Vincent Jackson, the Ravens were face with a steep mountain to climb. Joe Flacco was up for the challenge however. On the opening drive, Flacco hit Anquan Boldin on a 37 yard TD strike. He followed that up with a 25 yard TD to Dante Stallworth and a 19 yard TD to Rice. The defense seemed to feed off the offense by not giving up any points in the 3rd quarter to bring the Ravens to within 3 points. The Browns finally answered in the 4th with a 28 yard FG by Dawson to give the Browns a 6 point lead. Flacco and rookie tight end Munchi Cosh then led the Ravens on a long drive that was capped off with a 3 yard TD run by Brandon Jackson to give the Ravens the lead. Afterwards, the Browns went on a long drive that would have given them the lead back, but McCoy had a pass picked off in the endzone by Dwan Landry to secure the victory. There was bad news for the Ravens. To add to the other injuries, they also lost cornerback Webb for 12 weeks. The Ravens next play division rival Steelers next week. Coach Link says he will not use the injuries as an excuse and says it is time for the next man to step up.TEAM STATS Ravens Total Offense: 445 Rushing: 44 Passing: 401 Time of Possession: 15:37 Browns Total Offense: 462 Rushing: 110 Passing: 352 Time of Possession: 16:23 PLAYER STATS Ravens: J.
