La Tech pulls one out in Atlanta
    [IMG]
What a crazy game, as usual the slow start almost came back to haunt the La Tech Bulldogs. On the 1st play of the game La Tech back Keith Dixson fumbled after a 10 yard run. Coach bryden took a chance and challenged the play and it was reversed, but the drive fizzled. La Tech started Junior Scotty Young at QB after Harris's poor performance against Tulane. Needless to say the Young did not make the most of his opportunity and threw 2 INT's in the first half (one being a pick 6)and Coach Bryden gave the reigns back to Harris for the second half and he managed the game well. Ga State had trouble stopping the running game and La Tech ran it down their throats in the second half. It was a game in which La Tech dominated time of possession and controlled the second half and getting down 14 in the second quarter. Final 35-24

MTSU left searching for answers after 52 to 17 loss to FAU
MTSU and head coach Jeff Hickerson are left searching for answers after an embarrassing start to their Conference USA era. Former Sun Belt foe Florida Atlantic took the Blue Raiders to the woodshed, 52 to 17, forcing 4 turnovers and putting up over 500 yards of offense. "We didn't do anything well, at all. We played about as poorly as we could play, and that is the resuly we got," said Hickerson.
MTSU was without starting tailback Jordan Parker, and all 3 quartberbacks played on offense. All 3 also threw interceptions. MTSU has decisions to make moving forward, deciding on a quarterback would be a start. Figuring out a 2 tailback rotation would be a 2nd piece to the decision making puzzle. And figuring out how to stop an opposing offense would be a 3rd riddle to solve.

DREAM START TURNS INTO A NIGHTMARE FOR VANDALS
The Idaho Vandals had hoped for a better showing after winning their first game of the 2013 season but alas the inexperience of rookie Head Coach Caudell is taking precedence as the Vandals find themselves 1-3 after a poor showing against Washington State loosing 55-21. The Vandals will look to turn their season around next week as they head to New Mexico to take on the Lobos. The big question heading forward for Idaho is what to do about their current starting QB Chad Chalich who leads the NCAA in passing yards with 942 but is also leading the NCAA in INTs with 6.

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi --- Kent State and Southern Miss traded touchdowns in the first half but the Golden Flashed shut out the Golden Eagles in the second half en route to a 30-14 win. Kent quarterback David Fisher was the Player of the Game throwing for 293 yards and two touchdowns.

The first half looked like the game was going to be a slug fest as the two teams traded scores and field position. Kent went into the half with a 17-14 lead and momentum. Southern Miss scored with just 1:39 left in the second quarter to take a 14-10 lead, However, the Golden Flashed answered back quickly on a 50-yard pass from Fisher to Chris Overton just 29 seconds later.

The late-second quarter touchdown seemed to suck the wind out of USM's sails as they came out flat in the second half and were outscored 13-0.

Dri Archer, Kent's do everything super back, was held to just one yard on four carries but hauled in eight passes for 117 yards. Defensive tackles Richard Gray and Roosevelt Nix set the pace on defense as each recorded four tackles, two tackles-for-loss and a sack.

Kent State will stay on the road next week as they travel to Kalamazoo to take on Western Michigan while Southern Miss travels to New Orleans to take on rival Tulane.
