Cimmy, not looking forward to a motivated UNLV squad, let me know when you can play. I should be good later tonight or later tomorrow night.

Hopefully the lag is not like last time.

I should have my game played by then. I did not have time to get it in tonight because I spent a little too much time finishing schedules for CW.

Duke Williams (SS) named player of the game as Nevada's defense leads team to 23-10 victory over Louisiana Tech

    Reno, Nevada

It was a great day today as week 4 brought with it the start of conference play for the Nevada Wolfpack (1-2) and what better team for their new coaching staff to face than the undefeated Louisiana Tech team (3-0) who had a great run going to start the year. Both teams started off slow in this one, as Louisiana Tech would be forced to punt on their first two possessions on the day, while the Wolfpack were forced to punt on their first. The second Nevada drive resulted in the first points of this game, as Louisiana Tech held strong and forced a field goal deep inside their own territory, which was converted from 18 yards out to give Nevada the 3-0 lead. Tech would punt for a 3rd consecutive drive, and with Nevada's offense coming out onto the field they wanted to hit Tech's defense on a quick one. First, Magleby would step back and hit his HB, Mark on a 32 yarder down the sidelines as Tech was caught in a blitz. Then on the very next play, Magleby would step back and hit his WR Patterson on a slant route, and after a quick juke to the outside he was gone for a 31 yard score (highlight on hub) to give Nevada the 10-0 lead. Both teams would then punt on their ensuing possessions, giving Tech the ball again with around 2 minutes left, and they were able to drive down the field and hit on a 37 yard field goal at the end of the half to narrow the deficit to 7 with Nevada taking the 10-3 lead into the locker room.

The 3rd quarter was all about Nevada. First, they would score on their opening drive, as Magleby recorded his 2nd touchdown pass on the day, this one on a 3 yard pass to Matthews (highlight on hub). Then, on Tech's next drive the Nevada defense came up huge, as player of the game Duke Williams intercepted a Cameron throw, and Nevada was able to score points off that turnover as Boyd booted a 27 yarder to give Nevada a 20-3 lead. The Nevada defense wasn't done just yet however, as free safety Louks delivered a HUGE hit on a Tech receiver, causing him to fumble the ball which was recovered by Nevada's Boughton (highlight on hub). Nevada were unable to score any points from this turnover however, and punted the ball back to Tech in the 4th quarter.

On Tech's very first play on their next drive, Louks came up big again, intercepting a Cameron pass and giving the Wolfpack the ball back with 5:26 left on the clock (highlight on hub). Nevada would rely on their ground game Rushing 6 straight times before Boyd connected on his 3rd field goal of the day, this one from 32 yards out, to give Nevada a 23-3 lead. Getting the ball back with about 2 minutes left, Tech were able to pass their way down field as Cameron was hitting his receivers, going 7-11 on the drive before finally hitting his top target, WR Williams on a 12 yarder (highlight on hub). Tech were unsuccessful on the onside recovery and Nevada took a knee for a final score of 23-10. Nevada improve to .500 with this win, and 1-0 in the conference with a 2-2 record, while Louisiana Tech drop their first game of the season, dropping to 3-1 overall.

GG Bob, Always a pleasure man!!!
