DirtycashDylan Who is Benjamin playing as WMU? Is this a game I can just play the CPU or is this an actual human being who I can actually play against?

Play the cpu. It's BringbackJimmy, a guy I brought in just so I could make WMU's schedule. I tried to shanghai him, but it didn't work.

    k, thx.

    Victory at last for FIU!

NCAA '11 and NCAA '12 have both been evil nemesis games for Coach Crumb and his EMU and FIU clubs respectively. The game tries and tries to find ways to destroy Crumb's confidence and faith in the game and today's game vs WMU nearly did the same as well. However, FIU was finally able to get over the hump with 27 seconds left when FIU was able to run the ball in from 8 yards out to miraculously hold on to a 28-24 victory over Western Michigan.

The scoring for FIU came on three slant passes that were taken the distance. Two by Jacob Younger and one by Tymes(including a critical one at the end of the first half to tie the score up at 14-14).

Things looked like they were going to be in control for FIU when they pulled ahead 21-17 in the fourth quarter. However, the NCAA gods disagreed. WMU would proceed to then conveniently run the kickoff back for a TD after their return man broke three tackles on the play. This was following in the first quarter a long pass when FOUR FIU guys bounced off the WMU WR for a TD. However, FIU was lucky enough to pull off a couple of nice runs in the fourth to finally win this game vs WMU.

<waits now for some stupid transfer error>

    Ohio 17

A 4th Quarter TD pass was the difference in this one as I narrowly escaped a pesky Ohio team. SR QB Patrick Nicely found JR WR Mike Guidry on a 29 yard TD pass where he bounced off a Bobcat defender and scampered into the end zone. Nicely had a decent game but not near the success of last week with 2 interceptions offsetting his 2 TD passes. The running game continues to be a problem this season between the offensive line not blocking and no talent at the position nothing has seemed to work. The game was very evenly matched but Ohio's chance of a last second come back were thwarted by JR SS Sheldon Miller's interception and two first downs by the Akron offense.

    Kent-51
    UNLV-41

In a rematch of last year's championship game, the newly staffed UNLV Rebels fall short.

The big pregame news for Kent State was that star RB and national rushing leader Dri Archer would be out for the next 7-8 weeks with broken ribs, which, needless to say, is a monster blow to the Golden Flash offense. Luckily, Archer is on schedule to make it back just in time, as he'll be needed for the rivalry game with Akron and the following games vs Memphis and Middle Tennessee.

It seemed the coach and team took the news pretty hard because they came out and fell behind 3-14 quick. Reggie McKinney just didn't have the same kinda game without Archer's style to offset his and keep the Rebel's D honest. He rushed 16 times for 39 tough yards. But then again, it would be tough to run on UNLV's 3-4 that they rolled out most of the game so Kent relied on Spencer Keith's suspect arm. After missing several open receivers and a few easy TD throws, he ended up going 25-36 for 585 yards 4 TDs and no interceptions. The lone Kent turnover was a fumble on a batted down bubble screen. Meanwhile, UNLV threw 3 INTs. They'd make up for those turnovers by JR CB Sidney Hodge returning TWO kick returns for TDs and amassing 339 total KR yards. Hodge single-handily kept the defending Scholars champion in the game, but it wasn't enough.

Next week, the Golden Flashes head to sunny California to take on some sun burnt gingers.

    FAU 24 SJSU 10

This game was dominated by FAU's running attack and their defensive... They forced 4 picks. FAU scored 2 TD's and handled SJSU most of the way... However the game did not save.

    Aggies outshoot the Cougars

Las Cruces, NM - The Aggie defense stood tall enough to slow down NCAA passing leading Houston QB David Piland and the Cougars. The game started with UH getting the ball and Piland going early hitting a long pass on the first drive down the sideline. This put the Aggie defense inside their own 10 yard line within the first minute. The defense stood strong though and kept Houston out of the endzone on the next 3 plays forcing a FG. The Aggies quickly got to work moving the chains and sustaining a drive. From 55 yards out though the dialed HB Sean Huggins number who hit the hole on a dive and sprinted past the secondary to put the Aggies on the board.

The Aggies forced an interception on the next Cougar drive. They were able to get the ball in the endzone through the air with the short field on a 13 yard pass from Dustin Luke to Darrell Grant. Houston scored two more times in the quarter, once on a 64 yard bomb. Determined to not let the big plays beat them like they did last week though the Defense began to settle down. With Houston doing little to keep the D honest NMSU set back and played the pass. To open the 2nd quarter the Aggies again called Huggins number who got a key block from his receiver to outsprint the D again to scamper in from 45 yds out.

Houston cut it to 11 early in the 3rd quarter but two late Aggie TD's from QB Dustin Luke in the 4th quarter put things out of reach for Houston, allowing the Aggies to run the clock out.

Player of the game was HB Sean Huggins who carried the ball 23 times for 230 yds and 3 TD.

QB Dustin Luke went 21-35 220 YDS 3 TD 0 INT
WR Darrell Grant reeled in 6 catches for 57 YDS and 2 TD

NMSU moves to 3-1 on the year and faces in state rival New Mexico next week.

3rd Quarter Explosions Lifts MTSU To Win In Home Opener

MTSU received to start their home opener with hopes to avenge last year's loss to New Mexico. The game started out great for the Blue Raiders with a near perfect drive capped of with a 10 yard TD pass to running back Ben Cunningham. But MTSU would struggle after that, failing to score again the rest of the half. New Mexico's no-huddle offense confused the MTSU Defense early, scoring on their first two drives to take a 14-7 lead in the 1st quarter, but MTSU adjusted and neither team would score in the 2nd quarter. In the 3rd quarter, the Blue Raiders came out with a new fire. A quick 3-n-out led to a punt which was RETURNED 83 YARDS for a TOUCHDOWN!. The D posted another 3-n-out and the next play RB Cunningham broke a 55 yard TD run and just like that MTSU was up 21-14. MTSU forced an interception and scored another touchdown and went up 28-7. Another interception on the following drive, and a 52 yard touchdown pass from Kilgore to Collis put the Blue Raiders up 35-7, and in just a crazy 5:30 minute stretch, Middle Tennessee State had overtaken the lead and put the game out of reach. The Blue Raiders scored twice more in the 4th, and New Mexico got their lone score since the first quarter with just 52 seconds to go. Player of the game honors go to Harold Turner, whose 83 yard punt return for a touchdown sparked the win. Turner finished with 126 yards on 5 returns, Turner also posted 38 receiving yards on 2 catches and a touchdown. MTSU improves to 4-0 and hosts Toledo
