Coker leads Florida State to 45-17 win over Maryland
FSU QB Joe Coker continued his strong play to start the season as he threw for over 353 yards and 3 TD as the Seminoles won another important conference win. Coker who took over the starting role in week 2 showed great accuracy with the deep ball with all 3 of his touchdowns coming on passes of over 60 yards. Coker also had a 54 yard strike to Kelvin Benjamin at the end of the 1st half setting up a 22 yard field goal from Aaron Newton.
A week after forcing 4 turnovers against Clemson, the Seminole defense repeated that performance with 3 interceptions and a fumble that was returned 50 yards for the touchdown by FS Erik Pace.

    #12 Kansas 45
    #4 TCU 17

The game started off very slowly as both teams weren't able to do much on offense in the 1st quarter. TCU was able to make a short field goal on the last play of the 1st to take a 3-0 lead in what looked like a defensive struggle. But the offenses took off and both 3 consecutive TD drives were formed, giving Kansas a 14-10 lead with 0:51 left in the half. With all timeouts, TCU drove the field and was in field goal position with about 0:20 left. But safety Ray Mitchell grabbed an interception, broke a tackle, and sprinted 69 yards for the score to take a 21-10 halftime lead which gave Kansas the momentum. Kansas was up 35-13 at the beginning of the 3rd, but TCU was moving the ball at that point when Saunders intercepted an option pitch and took it 65 yards for the score that would effectively end the game. The player of the game was Kansas QB Mike Cummings who only passed for 202 yards, but he was very efficient, only throwing 3 incompletions and 3 TD passes.

Good Game Selvy9 that game was a lot closer than 45-17. 2 defensive TD's and a big kickoff return and antother turnover that led to 2 more scores.

    Kansas Stats
Mike Cummings (QB)- 16-19 for 202 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT
Anthony Pierson (HB)- 12 carries for 78 yards, TD
Dexter McDonald (WR)- 5 receptions for 72 yards
Jacorey Sheppard (WR)- 5 receptions for 70 yards, TD
Keeston Terry (FS)- 9 tackles, INT
Ray Mitchell (SS)- 5 tackles, INT, TD
Adonis Saunders (SS)- 8 tackles, FR, TD

    TCU Stats
Trevone Boykin (QB)- 19-37 for 283 yards, TD, 2 INT
Dwight Smith (HB)- 20 carries for 104 yards
Greg Richard (WR)- 4 receptions for 93 yards
Ladarius Brown (WR)- 2 receptions for 42 yards, TD
Matt Anderson (DE)- 8 tackles, 3 TFL, sack

#5 Alabama remains undefeated after beating Arkansas 45-24

    Arkansas (1-3) - 24
    #5 Alabama (4-0) - 45

Alabama forced a punt on Arkansas first possession of the game and would drive down the field but stall and have to settle for a 44 yard field goal by K S. Jones. Arkansas would get the ball back and drive the field that would set them up with a 7 yard run by HB I. Haynes to put Arkansas up 7-3, which would be Arkansas' one and only lead of the game. Alabama got the ball back and drove the field which lead to a TD, this time a 50 yard pass on 3rd and 13 by QB B. Simms to WR J. Atkins. Arkansas would drive down the field and Arkansas QB B. Allen would connect with WR Q. Funderburk from 23 yards out. Alabama would drive the field and would score with a 6 yard TD pass from QB B. Simms to TE M. Faciane to put Alabama up. Arkansas got the ball back to conclude the half and got into field goal position and tried to kick the field goal to make it a tie game but it would backfire as the kick would be short and WR N. Pittman would return the kick 105 yards for the TD as Alabama went into the locker room with a 24-14 lead. Alabama would start the second half with a drive that would result in a 1 yard TD run by HB C. Evans for his first score in the crimson and white. Arkansas would drive down the field but settle for a 37 yard field goal from K J. Richardson. WR N. Pittman would return his second kick for a TD, this time from 96 yards out. Alabama would force Arkansas to punt and would score with another 1 yard run by HB C. Evans. Arkansas would get into the endzone one more time with a 3 yard run from HB K. Walker but that would be too little too late as Alabama would get the onside kick and just sit on it for the W. Next week the Crimson Tide will take on the #2 Georgia Bulldogs in a rematch of the SEC title game.

    OU vs TTU yr 4.PNG
This one was all Oklahoma until things got interesting in the fourth quarter. The Sooners led 36-21 entering the fourth, and looked to cruise to victory. The Red Raiders had other plans, however. With 1:50 remaining, TTU connected on a 23 touchdown strike to bring them within 9. Their 2-point attempt was unsuccessful and they found themselves in need of an onside kick recovery. This didn't happen, but the Red Raider defense was able to hold OU to a 3 and out and get the ball back with a little under a minute left. After a few completions, TTU QB Scotty Young found Javares McRoy for a 30-yard touchdown pass that brought Texas Tech to within 2. Luckily for the Sooners, the second TTU onside kick attempt was unsuccessful as well, and they were able to run out the clock and solidify the win.
    Key performers:
    QB Blake Bell - 29-44, 375 yards, 4 TD
WR Sheldon McClain - 8 rec, 93 yards
TE Max Stevenson - 5 rec, 143 yards, TD
WR Mark Poole - 3 rec, 63 yards, TD

We crushed Wake forest behind the Legs of Eduardo Clements, he had 236 yards and a few scores on the ground. The defense looked solid for the first time all season. A good morale boosting win for the program.
