    Week 5: Jacksonville (27) Seattle (30)

    Showdown at QWest

In a epic battle of 1-3 teams the Jaguars came to Qwest stadium trying to keep pace with the rest of the AFC south, while the Seahawks tried to bounce back from a devastating loss last week.

The game started with the Jaguars receiving the ball and inching their way down the field in a drive lasting 1 minute and 55 seconds that resulted in a field goal. The Seahawks replied with their usual punt as their offense fizzled out at mid field. On the next Jaguars drive they deflated the Seattle crowd with a whopping 7 minute drive resulting in a 1 yard run by Jones-Drew. Matt Hasselbeck struck back with his first touchdown under coach Moogle to Houshmanzadeh to bring the Seahawks within three. After a series of field goals the score was 10-13 Jacksonville. Just when the game was in reach for the Seahawks Troy Williamson runs the kickoff back for a Touchdown making it a two score game again. Going into halftime the score was 13-20 as the Seahawks tacked on another field goal before the half.

Housh and Hasselbeck finally on the same page. Housh finished with 7 receptions for 105 yards and a TD.

The Seahawks opened up the second half with a field goal bringing it to 16-20. Unfortunately for the Jaguars their next three drives resulted in a turnover as Jones-Drew fumbled, Garrard threw a pick, and finally Garrard fumbles. Despite these turnovers the Seahawks could only make points out of the final turnover which resulted in a touchdown to Julius Jones on a 8 yard pass on third and goal. With the score at 23-20, Hasselbeck connected with the speedy Deon Butler on a corner route resulting in a 56 yard catch and run for a touchdown.

It was the nail in the coffin for the Jags... or was it?

On the next Jags drive Garrard finds a wide open Amani Toomer when Brian Russel bites hard on an underneath route bringing the jags back within 3. Despite the effort Hasselbeck shut the door on any comeback as he connected with John Carlson on a third and 5 to seal the game.

With the Seattle offense picking it up and their defense creating turnovers the Seahawks are a looking like strong contenders in the NFC West.

    MVP:
    Matt Hasselbeck: 20-33 290 yards 3 TDs 0 Ints

GG Jags. Jones-Drew definitely wasn't used as a decoy this game like he was in real life. Good luck the rest of the year
