    Jaguars Defense Shines In Downpour

The Jaguars hosted the Cincinnati Bengals this week in a meeting of 2-2 teams. The conditions were much less than desirable though as the extremely heavy rain made the passing game nearly impossible. Inaccurate passes and slipping receivers would dominate that part of the game. Unfortunately for the Bengals though, this would make the running game be crucial for success and they just couldn't get anything going against the Jaguars front 7.

The score doesn't reflect how tight this game was. Tiki Barber managed to find his way through the Bengals defense 3 times and would scamper in for long TDs(including a 92 yard draw play just before the end of the 1st half). These 3 runs would total 210 yards and would be enough for the Jags to be victorious though they would add on 11 more points with 3 FGs and a safety. Barber would end up with 275 rushing yards.

Terrance Knighton looked like the best DT in the NFL today as he dominated Bengals RG Bobbie Williams(their top rated player). Knighton went through Williams 5 times and recorded 5 sacks in this game. Dawan Landry also stood out today as he intercepted Carson Palmer 3 times.

The Bengals' 3 points would come off of a Gabbert interception which gave them a short field. Cincinnati was unable to drive the ball at all in the game.

    Individual Stats:
    QBs
    Jax: Gabbert - 3/12 - 28 yards - 0 TDs - 1 INT
    Cin: Palmer - 12/30 - 131 Yards - 0 TDs - 5 INTs
    Cin: Dalton - 0/3 - 0 Yards - 0 TDs - 1 INT

    RBs
    Jax: Barber - 18 Att. - 275 Yards - 3 TDs
    Cin: Benson - 16 Att. - 27 Yards - 0 TDs

Isn't 275 yards close to the NFL record? Good stuff.

The real NFL record is 296 yards by Adrian Peterson. Someone has broken that mark in this league though as Frank Gore gained 337 yards in week 1.

However, as I'm looking at the NFL record book, this is my 2nd 200 yard game with Tiki Barber. That pushes his career total of 200+ yard games to 7, passing OJ Simpson who has 6, and making him the record holder for most 200+ yard games.
