    SAINTS SHUTOUT CHARGERS 28-0

    Untitled.jpg

After a heartbreaking loss in Lambeau, the Saints looked to bounce back against Philip Rivers and the struggling San Diego Chargers.

The Saints D was clearly the star of the game, holding the Chargers offense to less than 100 yards on the day. Rivers couldn't get set in the pocket all day and was constantly harassed by the overload blitzes of the Saints.

RB Sproles finally had a breakout game, gaining 157 yards on 13 carries and 1 TD. Drew Brews took over where he left off last year, with an exceptional performance against the weak Chargers secondary.

Two straight losses after a 2-0 start had the Saints seriously concerned rolling into week 5. Hopefully this last game will set us back on the right course.

Offensive Player of the Game: Drew Brees 23/29 367 yards 2 TDs
defensive Player of the Game: Junior Gallette 4 sacks

It was an ugly mid-afternoon game vs the Packers in Indy.

A game of turnovers Packers Qb Aaron Rodgers was picked off 4 times by a ball hogging Colts D. 2 of the ints
Thrown in the Red - Zone. Packers did have more total yards gained in the 24-13 loss to the Colts (340 -130) ..
Due to the short fields Indy had most of the day they only tallied 64 yards of total offense.

Indy now has a great deal of momentum after knocking off the
. Packers they face the 2-3 Jets in New York and look to keep riding
    the wave.

    PATRIOTS 20 BRONCOS 7

PATRIOTS D KEEPS MANNING IN CHECK!!!!

The Patriots came out very aggressive both on offense and defense. This paid dividends as the stingey Patriots defense held Peyton Manning to a mere 133 yards with 1 INT and 1 TD. The newly acquired Demarco Murray ran hard when given the chance, but had to abandon the running game to attempt a comeback as the Patriots scored the first 20 points of the game. Manning responded by throwing the only interception of the game, but did manage a 48 yard pass to his TE Joel Dreessen for the Broncos only score of the game.

Brady came out throwing bullets to his talented receiving corp, but managed two touchdown tosses to his favorite target in Rob Gronkowski. Wes Welker managed 85 yards on 5 receptions and almost broke a huge play on a playaction pass that netted 29 yards, but if it wasn't for a shoestring tackle the play would have gone all the way. Neither team was able to eclipse 100 yards on the ground, which isn't a surprise with these 2 talented defenses.

In the end, the Broncos just did not have the personel to matchup against the Patriots various looks on offense and paid the price. This was a huge victory for the Patriots coming off a loss in Buffalo last week, and with all the talk of star receiver Wes Welker being shopped around.

    Week 6
    -------------------
    Patriots (4-1) vs Seahawks (1-4)
    Broncos (1-4) vs Chargers (1-4)

    Texans 42 Jets 10

That game was one that Arian Foster will remember for a long time rushing for 224 yards while adding 4 rushing TDS. The Texans could almost do no wrong on all phases of the game. Forcing turnovers, getting sacks, catching the ball, running the ball they were nearly unstoppable.

Matt Schaub threw a early interception but shrugged it off and was back to business as usual going 7/14 175 yards and 2 TDs.

The Texans D came up with 3 sacks and a interception.

Good game, Doc. I gotta say that I played horribly. I could not stop Foster - he was a BEAST!

    Thanks for the game. :)
