    Lions 21 - Vikings 20

In an early season NFC North barn-burner, the Detroit Lions (2-3) defeated the Minnesota Vikings (4-1) by the slimmest of margins, 21-20. After a back and forth first quarter, the Vikings took control. Trailing 7-3, Christian Ponder hit Devin Aromashodu for a 52 yard TD and then Prince Justice picked off a Matthew Stafford pass, taking it back 32 yards to give Minnesota a 17-7 half time lead. Early in the 3rd quarter, a 82 yard pass from Stafford to the HK MVP Calvin Johnson cut the Lions deficit to 3. After a Ponder interception, Stafford connected with Titus Young. The 15 yard touchdown reception as time expired in the 3rd gave the Lions a 21-17 lead. With 3 minutes remaining in the game, the Vikings were faced with a tough decision. Coach CA decided to kick a field goal on 4th and 2 from the Lions 14 yard line, cutting the score to 21-20. Unfortunately for him, the Lions were able to keep the ball, run out the clock, and preserve the 1 point victory.
