    Week 5

    Candlestick, Park

With the home crowd in full support of their struggling champs the 49ers played host to the Falcons. Take out Super Bowl QB Hill insert 3rd String QB Nate Davis. Take out FS Goldson insert newly acquired Micheal Huff. Coach Gaddy said these changes are just a small tastes of what the team is to expect.

Niners would start fast moving the ball well using the run to set up the pass get on the board first with a 6 yard TD pass to Crabtree. Falcons would drive but would be stop by the 49ers defense and held to field goals in the redzone. Niners offense look a tad better as Nate Davis finished with 3 td passes and 1 pick throwing for a conservative 155 yards passing. LB Jarvis Moss was able to pick off Warner twice in this day as the secondary started to play with more heart.

Coach Gaddy gave the defense a C- even though they kept the falcons out of the endzone and held them to 2 field goals. 49ers head into a much needed bye week to recover from this bad start. Look for more lineup changes to come as the 49ers get ready to make a strong push for the rest of the season.

    Vikings 38 - Lions 8

The "Showdown in Motown" ended up being a one sided affair as the Vikings earned their 4th victory of the young Mega season, 31-8 over the Lions. Many Viking players had this game circled on their calendar believing that last years week 10 massacre in Detroit led to the teams late season collapse. The end of season meltdown forced coach Willis to shitcan his longtime defensive coordinator Hendrikx, who luckily landed on his feet in Houston(steers and queers in texas -hmmmm)

This years Viking squad came into the game determinned to take care of the football and control the game on the ground. An early goalline fumble by backup running back Ian Johnson could have been disasterous, but the Viking D held firm and got the offense back on the field before they had too much time to dwell on the turnover. Adrian Peterson would then put a quick 6 on the board from 62 yards out, and the Vikes would not look back. On the very first play of the next possession, Peterson would live up to the hype with an even longer 93 yard run for the score. All Day would finish with 177 yards on the day and 3 TDs.

To the credit of their coach, the Lions would put up a great fight despite what the scoreboard indicated. A 2nd half opening drive that ate clock, spread the ball, and left the Vikes looking confused and on thier heels would end on 4th and goal from the 2 without a score. Another Detroit drive would end with a Nnamdi pick 6 with the Lions inside the 20 after another impreesive drive.

While the Vikings are happy with the win, they realize that Detroit will only improve before their next meeting, and the NFC North looks to be one of Mega's toughest this year. Another tough matchup for the Vikes next week as the Giants return to Willis Field, site of last seasons crushing week 17 playoff eliminating loss to the Giants.

    Game notes:
    Megatron - 6 rec/ 106 yards
    Stafford - 27/41 - 282yds - 1TD/1int

BALTIMORE, MD - The Ravens and Jets played a nailbiter that came down to the wire. The Jets opened strong, marching the ball against the Raven D for an 11 play drive capped off by Leon Washington's 11 yard burst. The Ravens answered quickly but were forced to bring Hauschka on after Todd Heap dropped a pass. It would stay 7-3 until Flacco got the ball into the red zone. Ray Rice shot up the gut for 12 yards, pinballing his way into the endzone. Following a great kick return from Leon Washington, Mark Sanchez put the ball in the endzone on a pretty 22 yard playaction to Chansi Stuckey, who took a pop but held the ball. The Ravens went into 2 minute mode. On a big play, Flacco threaded a ball to Tiquan Underwood who ran 40 yards before getting tripped up. His ex-Rutgers teammate Rice capped the drive with a short run to give the Ravens a 17-14 lead. We'd go on to the 3rd quarter, where the Jets defense started making plays, forcing the Ravens O off the field. Jamarion Bellows had a few grabs on a game tying drive, setting up Feely for a FG. Into the 4th, Vernon Ghoulston intercepted Flacco on a one-handed leap to stall a good drive. The Raven D would sack Sanchez and get the ball back. After coming up short on a 3rd down run, the Ravens settled for the FG putting the defense back on the field. Late in the game, the Ravens D would come up with the clincher. Sanchez would scramble with pressure coming. He appeared to cross the line of scrimmage but threw the ball, while getting hit from behind. Dawan Landry snatched the floating ball out of the air and returned it for a TD and a 27-17 lead that would stand to the gun.

Rice finished with 20 carries for 90 yards and 2 TDs.
Bellows had 5 catches for 77 yards for the Jets

AP is a monster and having of the best RB in your corner just makes it harder for any defense. The first TD run AP broke a huge gang tackle. When my defense gives up 3rd downs that are 10 or 10+ you will not win too many games. Last week against the Cardinals we gave up 2 3rd that were 12+ yd and lost. This week, there were again, long 3rd downs and we must find a way to stop that or we will be picking in the top spot this offseason. Look for the Lions to hit the practice field hard.

GG Tank see ya in Minnesota:p

    Bucs vs Bengals

Tampa Bay barely escapes with a win at home in this one. All the turnovers by the Bengals was one of the main reasons. Madden just came to screw with the Bengal crew and the Bucs tried to take advantage of every opportunity. The Bengals got a fg on they're first possession but moved the ball well on the ground. The Bengals answered with a 3 yd run by Scott. At the end of the 1st, HB James Davis got loose for a 75 yard run. That setup a quick score to start the 2nd. Tampa scored 17 in the 3rd to the bengals 3. CB Talib picked off QB Palmer with both coming in the red zone when the bucs really needed it. James Davis would get hurt and not return in the 2nd half. Palmer shredded the bucs D all game, though he had 3 ints. He hooked up with Benson to cut the lead to 6. HB D Ward got a long run after coming in for Davis on as he weaved thru traffic for a td 17 secs after Cinncy scored. The Bengals defensive coordinator stealth got together with his team and said 'these fockers will not score again!' and the Bucs wouldnt the rest of the game. HB Benson scored again in the 4th on a run to cut the tampa lead to 5. Palmer had a chance to win the game but threw an int in the red zone to OLB Geno Hayes. The Bucs run out the clock to win the game.

yep bengals got screwed with turnovers. Hb Scott fumbles 2x without even being hit hard bucs cb jumps 10 feet in the air to pick off 2 passes and to top it off the only time the bucs fumble its the freakin fight for the ball which he wins and gets the ball back. hats off the bucs for taking advantage of it. Still at the end bengals had their shot to win but i hit the triangle button when i meant to hit x to a wide open wrs and bucs pick it off to save the game.

Josh Cribbs returns a TD 102 yrds in the 3rd to tie the game.

This game started slow for the Browns as Moreno and the Chiefs were running and passing all over the Browns D and the Browns couldn't get anything started.

The Chiefs got a TD by Moreno in the 1st to go up 7-0,then the Browns managed a FG for a 7-3 game going into the half.

but that didn't last long as the Chiefs started right where they left off driving down the field in the 3rd but they only managed a FG and the lead was now 7.

Then Josh Cribbs got the kickoff after the Chiefs FG and ran up the middle, breaking 3 tackles and busting it to the outside for a 102 yrd TD run and the Browns came back to life.

The D then would start holding the Chiefs and Derek Anderson who will be the new Browns QB starting next week was benched for Jay Cutler and Cutler showed why he shouldnt have been traded by leading the team down the field and scoring on a QB sneak from the 1 to give the Browns the lead.

The Chiefs would get one more shot but with no timeouts were forced to pass and the Browns came up with the INT the 4th of the game for the Browns defense.

Cutler then kneeled the ball to end the game and end his reign as Browns QB. Final Score Browns 17 Chiefs 10

Moreno finished with 88 yrds and a TD as he juked and jumped his way around the field.

    RAMS STAY UNDEFEATED!!!

Turnovers were the name of the game this week in St. Louis. The battle of the undefeated had the ram's D showing up big time against the formerly undefeated packers.

The first score of the game went to FB Karney on a 19 yard passing TD from Bulger. Coach Ox called the audible at the last second when he saw everyone within a couple yards of the line of scrimmage lining up for a blitz. With only a half second to throw, bulger chucked a duck and was reeled in by the wide open fullback for the score.
The packers would respond scoring ten straight with a FG by crosby and a 77 yard screen pass to rookie RB James for the score.
The second quarter would be a battle of field position with both teams starting the quarter with long field goals. The rams had to punt on a 3 and out and the packers looked to take control of the game.
The Rams D stiffened up and held them to a 4 and 9 from the rams 38 yard line. Trying to extend the lead, the Packers lined up for a another long FG. Knowing it would be a low trajectory kick, the rams lined up in FG block return. The ends got an incredible jump and a offensive lineman tried to block one and crosby punted it right into his hands. The packers couldnt convert the busted play show here http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/15407123 and the rams drove down for a hinds ward score.
Even after the packers scored in the final seconds of the second quarter it seemed all the momentum was in the rams hands and due to a lot of turnovers, the rams held the lead and took the win.

Stat of the game. Turnover battle: GB 7 - STL 1

GG drunksoldier, i would say if we played again you probably would have won with all your weapons, that FG mess up was very very unlucky.

    Texans defeat Chargers 30-17.

It was a great day day for football in San Diego. Not a cloud in the sky and 80 degrees. The Texans took a 7-0 lead in the 1st quarter on a 26 yard TD strike from Matt Schaub to TE Owen Daniels. After holding the Chargers to a FG the Texans determined to establish a good running game handed the ball off 9 times to RB Steve Slaton for just 32 yards before he was sidelined for the game with a minor injury. Backup Makino filled in fine for Slaton running the ball 13 times for 117 yards and a TD. Matt Schaub had a solid day in which he completed 15 of 21 passes for 210 yards 1TD and 1 INT. The stars for the Texans defense were DE Antonio Smith who recorded 3 tackles 2 tackles for loss and 2 sacks and Rookie 1st round SS Rashad Henderson who recorded 2 tackles and his 3rd INT in the last 2 games.

The Chargers fought hard the entire game Phillip Rivers completed 18 of 33 passes 2TD's and 3 INT's and Ladanian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles combined for 38 yards rushing for the game. Rookie WR Barclay had a nice game catching 5 passes for 88 yards. The game didnt go the Chargers way though and in the fourth quarter the injury bug bit them pretty hard. RB Darren Sproles was lost for the season with a major injury received on a kickoff return. Good game Luis and good luck the rest of the year.

1st Quarter teams feeling each other out.

2nd quarter Vinatieri kicks a 31yd fg. On the next kickoff Bush returns it to the box for 92yds 7-3 Giants.

3rd Giants get a fg and a 57yd td with Sanders to lead 17-3.

4th quarter the Colts would score 21pts to tie the game on a int by Eli and returned by Hayden. With 33 sec lefted Eli would drive his team down the field and get the game winning score with Eli throwing a 38yd pass to hixon for a td Giants win 31-24.

    Thanks for the sub Stealth

    Dolphins @ Bills

Billls hosted the Dolphins in a AFC East showdown as the Bills would control the first drive chewing up 5 plus minutes and score 7-0

Dolphins went down field on Browns first carry for 67 yards but failed to score.

Bills had momentum but JT sacks Edwards and Porter scoops the fumble up for a score.

From there on was all Miami and would hold off a late rally by the Bills to win the game 24-21

GG Polo, I saw you Q'd me after the game but I was beat my friend.
