    Memphis rolls Hawai'i 51-28.

The final score is a little bit misleading as it was 51-14 with 3 minutes left. This one was over in the second quarter. Hawai'i's pass happy offense carved me up in the first quarter as it took me a whole to find a defensive alignment that worked. But once I did I was able to shut them down. They got two TD's in the last three minutes against my scrubs to make it look semi-respectable. A little frustrating bc my defense played really well and it's not reflected in the stats. 2nd team O is definitely more productive than 2nd team D.

Casey Calvin had a career day, rushing for 275 yards on 20 carries, including 2 TDs. Backup Artevis Gibson almost broke the 100 yard barrier as well, and had a 52 yard run on a beautiful zone read play. Hawaii was really just unable to stop my run game regardless of who was carrying the ball. Calvin, Gibson, Jean, and QB Blount all were productive in the ground game. I was also turnover free, while forcing 2 fumbles and making an interception. All together, this was a great game all around, and something I needed heading into my first user game against FAU next week.

    well now

this was one of the worst games in my history for pocket presence. i had none. at all. even plays I had time, i took forever and scrambled around and forced throws.
    it wasnt pretty.

even my defense was its poor usual self.

I was lost in this contest

New Mexico State Answers the Call
    S4Wk6.JPG
New Mexico state walks into enemy territory and keeps their composure, allowing them to make it 4 straight against their bitter instate rivals. New Mexico put the pressure on the visiting New Mexico State early by taking a methodical first drive all the way down field grinding it out for a touchdown. The Aggies answered back quickly in the 2nd with 14 unaswered, one on the ground, and one in the air. New Mexico added another field goal but New Mexico State was able to tack on another TD before half on a 6 yd pass from Luke to Coleman. A scoreless first for the Aggies saw them rattle off 3 TD's in the 2nd to allow them to take a 21-10 lead into the half getting the ball back.
From here on out New Mexico State seemed to lean on New Mexico to try and wear them down. They got the power running game going with a 26 yard rush from HB John Taylor in the 3rd. Then offensive coordinator saw that play action was open and Luke hit an open Austin Franklin for a 41 yard toss the put the nail in the coffin in the 4th.
The Aggie offense was able to make the Lobos one dimensional which allowed New Mexico state to tee off on the pass rush and also drop their secondary back to close down passing lanes. New Mexico State intercepted Lobo QB Colt Hudson, who has had a league leading year so far, 6 times on the day. The Aggies also made Hudson more uncomfortable by sacking him 5 times after they took away his scrambling lanes.
Aggies QB Dustin Luke went 14-21 for 213 3 TD 0 INT
Aggie HB John Taylor carried 25 times for 125 YD 2 TD.
The Aggie D held league leading Lobo QB Colt Hudson to 17-29 262 0TD 6INT.
New Mexico State moves to 4-0 (2-0) on the year and hands their in state rival their first loss of the season setting them 4-1. GG Oshiomogho
