    UGLY VICTORY

Stanford wins ugly over pesky Cougars
Palo Alto, CA - Stanford was able to get past Washington State 49-32. The Cardinal jumped out to an early 14-0 thanks to the passing of David Lloyd and the running of Barry Sanders, Jr. But just like Tony Romo, Lloyd would throw the Cougars right back into the game with critical interceptions. Lloyd would throw 4 more INTs, three in the first half, which lead to WSU TD drives. He would though right the ship by the end of the half and with the TD toss to TE Adam Jones at the end of the half, the Cardinal would lead 28-20. Jones would go on to have a great game, with 136 receiving yards and two scores.

Sanders Jr would lead the charge most of the second half, finishing with 168 rushing yards and 10 catches for 77 yards. WR Troy Thomas would finally have his best game of the season with 132 receiving yards and two scores, including an 81 yard bomb at the end of the third quarter to push the Cardinal lead to 35-20. Once Lloyd got going, he was very effective passing for 383 yards and six scores. The Stanford defense played ok, but WSU QB Austin Apodaca would throw for 463 yards and two scores. The Cougars effectively gave up on running all game, as they would go on to have 63 passes versus only 9 rushes.

Of note, this was the 3rd completed game after two freezes where the scores were 61-7 and 31-0. I hate when these freezes happen, it kills all my spirit in the game. Oh well, next game the Cardinal will look to go to 6-1 with a trip to Seattle to face the Huskies.

I was thrilled to log on and see my star running back is out three weeks due to a sim injury.

This game will be played at 10 as a user game. Rhight texted me, and it's a go.
