The division rivalry between the Broncs and the Bolts was a game of unique contrast. The Chargers relied heavily on the run regardless of Matthews fumbling twice with 32 rushing attempts for the Chargers and a total of 199 yards and only 16 passing attempts. On the other hand Manning threw the ball 45 times compared to only 14 rushing attempts..... The ball control rushing attack won out in this one with Manning only completing 42% of his passes and 3 int's.

The first quarter began with a 24 yard td pass to Malcolm Floyd and a quick answer by the Broncos on a 13 yard TD pass to Tamme. The Chargers would put together a long drive lasting close to five minutes only to end in an interception in the endzone by Q Carter who returned in 101 yards to pay dirt making it 14-7 Broncos lead.

The second quarter was all about proficient passing and Chargers Defense. Back to back long TD strikes by Rivers to the 5th string WR V. Brown (65 yards) and the rookie TE Ladarius Green (78 yards) who is filling in for the injured Antonio Gates. It was 17-21 Chargers lead at halftime.

At the end of the third quarter newly signed Q. Jammer would take advantage of the aging Peyton Manning and his off night and score a TD on an interception. The Broncos would make it interesting in the fourth quarter and bring the game within 6 points with a deep 40 TD pass to Damarius Thomas only to have the game sealed with a 43 yard scamper by Ryan Matthews.

The player of the game goes to Q Jammer with 3 tackles, 2 interception and TD.

Ryan Matthews had 186 yards rushing on 27 attempts but fumbled twice.

    Phillip Rivers went 11-16 248 yards 3td to 1int.

Broncos standouts: Q Carter had 6 tackles, 1 int (101 yds), and 2 forced fumbles! Demaryus Thomas also had a good day with 5 receptions for 126 and a TD.

GG nellycuz I look forward to our next match-up.

    Very Good game Danny

You have a well balanced offense and Mattews is a beast although he had fumble-itis. Connection could have been better but hopefully our next match runs better.
