    Week 6: Falcons(7)vs.Titans(22)

After the Tennessee Titans went 1-4 to start the 2011 OMFL season, Nashvillians and Titans Fans around the state started to get a little upset and after the 2nd Jacksonville loss of the season, things started to get a little more violent as mass riots plagued the city. Fans were heard screaming "We went from AFC south champs to THIS?!?!? WHAT HAPPENED!?!?!" as they flipped and burned countless cars in downtown Nashville. Coach Ox held a press conference during the week and he knows his seat is getting hotter. He placed all the blame on himself for cutting practices short and skipping practices altogether. Coach Ox stated in that press confernce, "If things are going to turn around in Nashville, it has to happen now! Get CJ the ball, keep the pressure off Vince Young, quiet that trigger finger, and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!"

The Atlanta Falcons took the short trip up to Nashville in week 6 to face the Tennessee Titans. The Falcons came in Hot with Turner and Ryan both having probowl seasons. The titans came in cold as cold could get but with a great pep talk from the OMFL commissioner himself, came out with a new found swagger and determination.
The game started as a defensive game with both teams struggling to get any rhythm going on offense. Titans RB Chris Johnson came out determined to get the tough yards and got a couple 10+ yards rushes in the first but the titans couldnt punch it in. The Falcons offense struggled as the titans were Blitzing to stop turner but when the Falcons passed, the DEs got enough pressure to interrupt most passes. The only score of the first came from second year Titan Kicker Mike Klem who blasted a FG right down the middle from 50 yards out.

The second quarter started with the Titans leading 3-0 but the Titans were threatening again in the Atlanta redzone. Vince young was sacked 10 yards in the backfield on 3rd down and once again the titans sent Mike Klem out to kick another long one. He blasted another good one but it crept towards the upright and "BONG" it hit the upright but lucky enough it bounced in for the successful FG. Coach Ox said after the game that as bad as this season was going, he thought it bounced out but was amazed when the refs put their arms up. The falcons finally started to put some things together and after some big Turner runs, Matt Ryan finally found a wide open RB Norwood on a screen for the easy TD to take the lead 7-6. The titans got the ball and fed it exclusively to CJ and he responded well, leading the Titans all the way to the Falcons 3 yard line. On third down from the 3, the Titans lined up in goalline formation as did the falcons who pinched the DL and LBs to stop the QB sneak. Coach Ox knew that was the play called on offense and in a masterful move, called timeout only to go to the very same QB sneak on the next play. The falcons coach over thought what the TO meant and went to stop CJ on an outside toss but was fooled as Vince sneaked in for the TD untouched. Titans kicker Klem added another FG late in the half to make the score going into halftime 16-7.

The titans came out of halftime looking to get Lendell White a little more involved and to keep the clock running. CJ and Lendell worked well together like the old days as Lendell was trucking wearing out the defense and CJ slashed and cutback to make big gains. The titans defense got some big turnovers and kept RB Turner from breaking anything over 5 yards. The titans where the only team to score in the third with 2 more FGs from 32 and 38 yards out to extend to score to 22-7 going into the fourth.

Neither team scored in the fourth due to the Titans looking to just run the ball except on 3 and long to keep the clock ticking and the Falcons over extending to get points fast and got away from their ground game. Titans celebrated the win on LP field with Coach Ox as the collective state of Tennessee stopped holding their breathe during the tense forth quarter and game. Coach Ox said in the post game press conference, "This is where it starts, NOT where it ends. The culture in Nashville is going to change fast.... Right after my vacation."
