    Week 6: Giants (37) - Lions (17)

It was a rain-soaked debut for Coach SD, as the Giants defeated the Lions 37-17. The Lions were played catch up from the beginning as the Giants defense scored TDs on the first two drives of the game: LB Clint Sintim would pick up a fumble and return it 41 yds for the first TD and CB Corey Webster would pick of Matthew Stafford and return it 35 yds to put the G-Men up 14-0. Later in the first quarter, Eli Manning would hit a wide open Larry Fitzgerald on a 44 yd TD pass.

The Giants would add a FG and a Jeremy Shockey TD catch to take a 31-0 lead before the Lions would finally get on the scoreboard, on a 47 yd Jason Hanson FG. After Lawrence Tynes connected on a 34 yd Fg, the Lions would take one play as Stafford hit Kelley Washington on a 54 yd strike to close out the half, with the Giants up 34-10.

The Lions would add a TD and the Giants would add a FG in the second half to finalize the score at 37-17. Brandon Jacobs ran well, gaining 129 yds on 19 carries and Larry Fitzgerald would catch 4 passes for 123 yds and 1 TD.

Good game to Coach NDColts, also debuting with a good young team that does have some strengths in the defense. It was a hard way to start from so far behind early.

    Key Stats:

    E. Manning- 7/10, 159 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INTs
    M. Stafford- 8/21, 161 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

    B. Jacobs- 129 yds
    K. Smith- 72 yds, 1 TD

    L. Fitzgerald- 4 catches, 123 yds, 1 TD
    K. Washington- 4 catches, 120 yds , 1 TD

Next week, the Giants will have their first division matchup of the season on the road against the Dallas Cowboys
