    WEEK 6 is up

Week 6 is here. There is a huge user game early in the season between #1 Florida and #2 LSU. This could mean quite a bit as far as the NCG here in CW. Get your games in and lets get rolling again.

    Tigers Win Round 1!

Player of the Game Terrance Gilmore scores a big 23-yard touchdown

Huge win for the Tigers! In the first of what will likely be two match ups between the #1 Florida Gators and the #2 LSU Tigers, the Bayou Bengals took the first battle 20-17. The Gators won the toss and elected to defer. LSU ran their Spread Offense to near perfection, driving 80 yards for the opening touchdown of the game when Jordan Jefferson hit Chris Tolliver on a 17-yard post pattern 2:15 into the game. Florida was still feeling the Tiger Defense out on their first possession and was forced to punt. LSU again drove down the field, but had to settle for a 35-yard field goal when the drive stalled just inside the Red Zone making the score 10-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
1:05 into the 2nd quarter, Florida closed the gap to 3 when Jordan Reed found Andre Debose behind the Tigers' coverage for a 20-yard strike. 1:44 later, the lead was back to 10 when star running back and Player of the Game Terrance Gilmore took a pitch, busted through a couple tacklers, and raced 23 yards for a touchdown. Just under 3:00 later, Jeff Demps scored on a 10-yard run to close the gap to 3 and Florida would receive the 2nd half kickoff.
The 2nd half would be a defensive battle as it seems both teams had the opposing offenses pretty well figured out. After getting a stop, LSU drove down to the Florida 21 yard line and Derek Helton kicked his 2nd field goal of the game to put LSU up 20-14. Florida moved the ball effectively, but on 4th & Short had to settle for a 46-yard field goal with 4:08 to play, but that is as close as they would get. The Gators would get the stop that they needed, but when a 4th Down pass by Reed fell incomplete, LSU was able to milk the clock and hold on for a 20-17 win.

    Great game Drunken!
