Miami Earns First ACC Win 28-23 After Game Freezes 3939040343 Times

Miami struggled to hang on, but beat Georgia Tech 28-23. They had a commanding lead going into the fourth but allowed THREE touchdowns late to let GT come back. However, the defense did just enough to hang on.

    Morris: 20 for 36, 1 TD and 1 INT
Johnson: 87 rushing yards, 3 TDs
    TD catch by Lewis
Shayon Green forces two fumbles and recovers two fumbles

coming off a huge road victory against a 17th ranked Oregon ducks team the California Golden Bears returned home to Memorial Stadium to face the 2-2 Washington state cougars ... with air raid vs bear raid was the thought around the country not so was the case... sonny dykes and OC tony franklin set a loose game plan going in " we wanted to see if they could stop the run and they could not so we ran the ball " said franklin

to the tune of 56 touches for 294 and 2 tds bigelow and lasco each broke the century mark... we have a pretty good running back duo they did well for us last week ...

when asked about the turnovers sonny frowned " yes it is a problem " the bigelow fumble is can not happen again and the int was a bad read we will watch the film and make corrections

    players of the week
Offense - RS RB Daniel Lasco 18 carries for 106 yards and 2 TDs
Defense - the whole Defense gets the nod this week holding the cougs to 171 total yards keep in mind wash st QB C. Halliday is leading the FBS in yards passed and WR G. Marks also leads the FBS in receiving yards

once again CAL dominated the clock 23:49 mins to 4:11

    next up UCLA in Pasadena

The Tide Works Out Kinks Against GSU
The final score for a solid win by the Tide was 34-10. Alabama did not have a scoreless quarter with 3 points in the first quarter, 10 in the second quarter, 7 in the third quarter, and 14 in the fourth quarter. The Georgia State Bulldogs only quarter was the second with 10 points as shown in the final score. The Tide relied heavily on their run game with TJ Yeldon came away with 28 rushes, 212 yards, and 3 TDs with his longest rush being 49 yards. Jalston Fowler had 6 rushes for 39 yards and Kenyan Drake 9 rushes for 49 yards. AJ McCarron had a slow day in the passing game going 2/6 for 55 yards and an INT. TJ Yeldon was the apparent pick for Offensive Player of the Game but the race for for Player of the Game on the defensive side of the ball with Belue, Fulton, and Collins all forcing turnovers in the form of INTs. Deion Belue made a stand out play with his INT with a 37 yard return for a TD that put him over the top for the award. Cade Foster had 10 points of his own with 2 FGs with a long of just 21 yards and 4 XPs. Geno Smith had a spectacular day returning and putting the Tide in good field position with 3 KR for 122 yards with a long of 48 and 2 PR for 19 yards and a long of 10.

The game started off slow with only 3 points in the first quarter about halfway through the quarter from 20 yards away. Offenses ruled in the second quarter with a total of 20 points combined between the two teams. Cade Foster kicked off the second quarter scoring with a 21 yard field goal to put the Tide up 6-0. The Bulldogs scored their only TD of the game with a 7 yard pass on their best drive of the day. Alabama answered back with a long drive with Yeldon punching it in from 5 yards out with less than a minute left in the half. The Bulldogs sailed the ball down the field in a series of spectacular passes into field goal range. They put the ball through the uprights as the last seconds of the half ticked of the clock. Alabama received the second half kickoff and drove down the field with TJ Yeldon having a 49 yard rush that was stopped 3 yards short of the goal line by a desperation ankle tackle. Energy surged through the stadium as Yeldon punched it in on the next play from the 3 yard line. Yeldon then scored 3 seconds into the fourth quarter from the 2 yard line after a drive won in the trenches by the Alabama O-line. Deion Belue then put the last points of the game on the board with his spectacular pick 6 return. The ball changed hands a couple of times as Alabama's second team O was subbed in as neither team was able to put together a scoring drive. The Tide's head coach was very happy with his teams improvement from last week's weak performance against the Rebels.
