    Week 6 S3 Summaries

Idaho went to south bend in a late night brawl with Notre Dame. Notre Dame absolutely crushed Idaho. Final score 59-20. The Irish scored on the 2nd play from scrimmage dropping a PA pass over triple coverage and broke a tackle on the way to the end zone. On Idaho's first offensive play, Notre Dame caused a fumble and on their next play they scored again. 14-0 in the first minute of play.

Notre Dame QB threw for 6 TD's and 400 yds on the nose for the day. Meanwhile, Idaho's QB Brian Reader is lucky to be alive and walking. He was sacked numerous times on the day and the Irish were all over the option that he kept trying to run in between passes. Reader managed to throw for 2 TD's and 0 INTs which is really quite miraculous given the incredible pressure he had on him all day.

EVO heisman hopeful, HB Princeton McCarty had 2 rushing TD's and about 80 yds rushing.

The story of this game was quite simply Notre Dame's insane passing attack. Perfect passes and WR broken tackles led to an embarassing day for the Vandals. On offense, the Vandal OL was more than embarassed - it was just downright ugly as Notre Dame DE's were just running right thru Idaho's O-Linemen in a sack-fest.

Dang tough loss Mil, Notre Dame must've just sucked all the momentum from the beginning.

That defense especially those LBs for Notre Dame are monsters.

    #14 Nev @ Utah St

On paper this game should've been a blowout. Nevada is on a 4 gm win streak and they're facing a less talented team. After 4 minutes of play it seemed that this game was going to be a blow out because twice SR QB C.Louks hooked up with SR WR S.Anderson for a 5 yd and 41 yard TD pass. But wait a minute USU gets momentum after the HB breaks several tackles and run 41 yards for the TD.

    14-7 Wolfpack

    2nd QTR

The defense line of the Aggies begin to dominate and stop Nevada by sacking Louks for a 12 yard loss. Then the Aggies bust another 19 yard TD run (Breaking several tackles). Nevada naswers back with a FG then a 9 yard pass from Louks to JR WR Washington. The Aggies respond with a 2 yard TD run. The Wolfpack get on the board again with another TD from Louks to Anderson from 19 yards out with only 19 secs before halftime.

    31-21 Wolfpack

    3rd QTR

Nevada comes out the second half with a 40 yard TD pass from Louks to Anderson. Then the unthinkable happens and Louks get injured for 9 weeks... The offense of the Wolfpack continue to roll with Fogerson who receives a pitch for a 19 yard TD run. The Aggies respond with a 47 yard FG.

    45-29 Wolfpack

    4th QTR

The Wolfpack score again with a FG and the rest of the game was chew clock.

    Final 48-29 Wolfpack

    Highlights:

USU broke several tackles on each play. If I didn't play conservative I could've lost just on big plays alone.

I finally return the favor with J.Fogerson who breaks 2 tackles off the pitch for the score.

Jeffvon Gill led the way with over 100 yards rushing and the defense played great again. Brett Mosley, Gill's backup had 1 rushing TD as well when Gill was being treated for an injury in 2nd quarter.

BGSU is next and Buffalo needs to play a complete game this year to avoid the result that happened last year.

BOWLING GREEN MOVES TO 4-0, DEFEATS TEMPLE 44-13

BOWLING GREEN, Oh -- In last year's meeting, Temple completely embarrassed BG, 42 - 7. Seeking revenge, BG dominated from start to finish to move to 4 - 0 overall and 2 - 0 in MAC play.

The big question for BG is who would step up and replace injured All-American RB Mark Mays. So far, Freshman running back Blake Gardner has been that man. Gardner rushed for 271 yards on 39 carries and scored 3 touchdowns behind the strong O-line of the Falcons. The BG offensive line was able to do whatever they wanted against the Temple D Line and were the main reason BG's was able to put up 523 yards of total offense.

UP next for the Falcons - @ an upstart Buffalo team.

    Stanford 35-10 #4 Washington

    No Luck, No Problem

Ingram scores 1 of his 3 touchdowns

Stanford bounced back from their 1st loss of the season, traveling to Seattle and taking down the #4 University of Washington Huskies, despite not having star quarterback Andrew Luck. The Cardinal were led by freshman running back Braylon Ingram who rushed for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns earning Player of the Game honors. The game started really well for the Cardinal as Delano Howell intercepted Robbie Fouch's first pass of the game and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown and 7-0 Stanford lead. Washington responded well and on their next possession, Fouch hit tight end Kavarrion Middleton down the sideline for a big play down to the Stanford 2 yardline, then two plays later, Fouch and Middleton connected again, this time on a play-action pass for a touchdown and at the end of one quarter, the score was 7-7.

The 2nd quarter saw Stanford and Braylon Ingram start to take over the game. Stanford outscored Washington 14-0 and would be receiving the 2nd half kickoff, with an opportunity to go up by 3 touchdowns. With 4:53 left in the half, Player of the Game and Pac-10 Player of the Week, Ingram scored his 1st of 3 touchdowns on the day. After leading the Cardinal offense down into striking distance for the first time, Ingram plunged in from the 2 yardline to put Stanford up for good. On their next possession, backup quarterback Josh Nunes, who filled in admirably, throwing for 278 yards and 1 touchdown, hit big-play receiver JR Patterson for a 48-yard touchdown with 1:48 left in the half and the Cardinal would head into the break up 21-7.

Stanford picked up where it left off in the 2nd half with a soul-crushing 3:05 drive that ended with Ingram scoring his 2nd touchdown of the day, this time from 5 yards out and the game was over. The Stanford defense did a great job shutting down the Husky offense and all Washington could muster in the 2nd half was a 43-yard Eric Folk field goal with :04 left in the 3rd quarter. The ensuing kickoff was returned to the 31 yardline and on the first play of the 4th quarter, Ingram put the icing on the cake for Stanford as he faked a handoff to Usua Amanam and ran back to the left 69 yards for the final touchdown of the game.

Next week, Stanford travels to Tempe to face Arizona State.
