The #9 Penn State Nittany Lions shut down the #17 Wisconsin Badgers in Madison today, 45-0. This was the Lions 2nd straight shut-out. JR QB Kevin Newsome had a mediocre day, completing only 47% of his passes for 255 yards and 4 TDs with 1 Int. Newsome added 37 yards on the ground. SR HB Stephfon Green gained 122 yards and scored twice. SR DE Eric Latimore was voted Defensive MVP by the players and coaches with his 3 Tackles, 2TFL, 1 Sack, and 1 Int. Also of note was RS-JR MLB Michael Mauti's day, Mauti finished with 6 Tackles, 4TFL, 2Sacks, and 2 Forced Fumbles. Unfortunately the defense lost one of its key components for the bulk of the rest of the season. RS-SO Starting DT Jordan Hill broke his tailbone in a huge pile-up and will be out of action for 9 weeks. Hill had 12 Tackles, 5TFL, 1 Sack, 1 Pass Def, and 1 Fumble recovery. Hill's physical presence in the trenches will be sorely missed. Next up for the #9 Lions, a big time user game matchup at the Big House, against the Michigan Wolverines.

Ohio State had to rally late to defeat Northwestern 21-14. The Buckeyes took a 14-0 lead into the break and seemingly had control of the game. The Wildcats dominated the third quarter to draw even at 14, due in most part to putting the clamps on the Ohio State running game. After a long OSU drive, James Herron found the end zone to give Ohio State a 21-14 lead. The Buckeye defense stepped up on Northwestern's last drive, stopping the Wildcats on downs.

Next up for the Bucks is top ranked Florida.
