    Washington State Improves to 3-2!!
Washington State was the underdog once again, but this time they were able to pull out a nail biting 17-13 win over Arizona State. ASU had a lot of talent on their team, and quite a few guys I believe will make it to the pros. However, once Washington State's defense took control of the game the Cougars were enjoying a 17-0 lead that they would nearly give away in a 4th quarter collapse. Read on..
This was a very slow game. Sophomore QB Tim Todd was average at best, but the defense came up with some big plays forcing 2 interceptions and a fumble. Todd fumbled the ball 3 times, luckily we were able to jump on two of them, Todd added an interception to his season total as well.
Anyway, Washington State got on the board first with a 0 yard TD run set up 22 yard catch and run redshirt Junior WR Jorge Morgan. A minute into the third Washington State scored again to take a 14-0 lead on a 47 yard TD run by redshirt Junior HB Jeff Cutler. A 28 yard Lane FG made it a 17-0 lead for the Cougars with 5:28 left to play.
Arizona State finally got on the board with a 2 yard FB dive with their HB T. Cleveland with 2 minutes to go. On WSU's following possession Todd fumbled, and this time the offense didn't jump on it and was returned 50 yards for a TD, missed kick, 17-13 game. Next Arizona State successfully recovered the onside kick and began making their way down field. It was at about the 40 yard line when the defense began to make their stand, sacking the quarterback twice, and leaving ASU with a 4th and 16. Washington State safety Roberson would pick off the ensuing pass to seal the win for the Cougars.

Utah State forgot to show up in huge Blowout to Utah

Picking up right where i left off the past few games in both leagues, I continue to play some of the best defensive ball of yet in NCAA 12. Sure this was just Utah State but i thought I did a tremendous job reading and reacting. The Aggies totalled just 168 yards while completing just 37% of their passes with 5 interceptions. The longest offensive play was just 21 yards.
The Utah offense looked better then it has in a while as DeLoach dominated on the ground for 238 yards on 26 carries with 3 scores. Nixon was conservative as he went 8/12 for 164 yards and 3 scores of his own. Bednarik winner Derron Kiniry went crazy for 3 interceptions with 2 scores while the freshman phenom Stephen Johnson also pulled down one. Craig Mitchell pulled down the 5th. Andre Lowe had a big time shutdown performance but couldnt catch any of his knockdowns. Marcello Pettit also scored his first career TD on a punt return.

    OSU 44 - Arizona 7

Airzona drew first blood with a pick six against OSU. Arizona read the play perfectly and took a pick six to the house on a WR screen. The difference in this game was OSU speed on defense. Arizona could not get anything going all game. OSU took advantage of 4 Arizona turnovers in the game. The game started off very close through the first half but OSU pulled away in the 2nd half.

    FINAL
    [IMG]
California headed into their annual rivalry game with USC coming off a huge upset win against Oregon State. Coach IrishBearcat stressed the importance of staying focused against a 1-3 USC team. The Trojans upset Cal last season by handing them Golden Bears their first loss as reigning National Champions. California struggled early on offense as did the Trojans. USC forced a fumbled on a 4th and 1 attempt by Cal as their FB got destroyed by a Trojan defensive lineman. USC added 3 points, the only points by either team in the 1st quarter.
After an interception Cal added their first touchdown of the game on the very first play of the drive. Cal RB Shaun Young picked up some nice blocks and walked into the end zone 18 yards without being touched to give the Golden Bears a 7-3 lead. With under a minute left QB Marlon Davis hit TE David Frederick over the top on a 24 yard TD pass. Cal entered halftime up 14-3. The defenses dominated in the second half. USC WR John Coleman hauled in a TD pass with Cal Captain William Stevens draped all over him. USC looked like they would get back in the ball game but Cal added another field goal and was able to shut out the Trojans for the remainder of the game. Cal avoided an upset, avenged last season's loss, and won the game to improve to 5-0 heading into the bye week.

    Huskies Stomp Ducks

The Huskies traveled to face a hostile Oregon crowd, but quickly had the home crowd dismayed with a 104 yard TD kick return by HB Lee Jenkins on the opening play of the game. Oregon was forced to punt, and Pat Brown quickly struck with a big 56 yard run for a TD, putting the Huskies up 14-0. Oregon was forced to punt again, but forced a huge fumble that was recovered by LE Kevin Blake for a TD. Washington put together a nice drive in the second, with Pat Brown finding the endzone for a second time on a 8 yard run. Danny Hudson hauled in an impressive 18 yard TD pass after yet another Oregon punt. Washington lead 28-7 at the half, and didn't look back.

The third quarter was all Washington, scored 10-0 on Oregon, and extending the lead to 38-7 going into the fourth. Washington piled on two more TDs and a FG before Oregon would scored again, making it a 55-14 game at the end. Washington could do no wrong in this one, and hopes to keep up the rebounding performance after a tough loss to Oregon State.
