Pittsburgh came in to East Rutherford on coming of losses before the bye week. After a good week a practice, the were able to put some things together and get W against the Jets, 37-28. The Steelers would dominate the first half putting up 31 points before the half. The defense would keep the Jets offense at bay with timely forced fumbles and sticky fingers for errant passes. Thumpers Clark, Foote and Timmons each a FF each. Curtis Brown and Ike Taylor each got pick sixes to help with the scoring. Cortez Allen and Timmons would each add a pick for a total of 4 against the Jets. The Jet would not be outdone. They came storming back in the second half putting up 14 in the third and 4 in the forth. Coach Tomlin would keep thing fairly conservative on offense and ran just the right play to keep the clock running and putting up a couple of FGs to lengthen the lead. The Jets would try one last ditch effort to get a score on the board but Geno was picked off again. The team would kneel it out to end the game.
