This was a huge game for both teams as an early season division lead was at stake.

The Vikings took early control of the game on 2 first half Manning TDs. One on a 8-yd pass to TE Daniel Graham and the 2nd on a 4-yd scramble. K Steven Hauschka would add a 1st quarter 47-yd FG to make the halftime score all Vikings.

The Lions would get their feet under them and mount a comeback early in the 3rd quarter as their defense forced 4 Manning interceptions. The Lions got on the board in the 3rd quarter with a beautiful pitch & catch from QB Curtis Painter to WR Mike Sims-Walker. The Lions would then pull to with 3 points behind the fearless running of HB Steven Jackson who punched it in from 8yds out. SJ would finish the day with 124yds off of 13 rushing attempts and 1 TD, near whopping 10-yds per carry. The VIking defense would answer the call though. Playing shutout football in the 4th quarter the Vikings were able to put the game away with 2 more FGs by Hauschka. The last one coming with 1:46 remaining and made the contest a 2 score game. The Lions would not go down without a fight but the game clock would strike zero as the Lions were threatening in the redzone.

GG Winuvas. Good luck rest of year
