Welcome to ESPN's College Gameday, live from Pasadena, California at Rose Bowl Stadium, the site of this week's Game of the Week between the California Golden Bears and the UCLA Bruins. I'm Chris Fowler and I'll be joined by Herbie and the Coach to discuss this week's news from around the world of college football as well as preview this week's great slate of action on the gridiron.

Last week was a week filled with giant killers as teams ranked #1, #3, and #5 went down to lower ranked opponents. But parity is what makes college football fun, and why we love watching week after week.
We start here in Pasadena, where Gameday is this week. Let's welcome Samantha Ponder with the latest news on this week's Game of the Week between the Golden Bears and the Bruins.

"This is a game to decide who owns the state of California. It also is a midseason matchup that will have Pac-12 conference implications down the road. This has been a rivalry game for years, and looks to be another great one this year.
Cal is coming off an impressive rebound win against Washington State after falling to now #2 Oregon. Frosh QB Zach Kline still struggled throwing 3 interceptions against WSU, but looks to get back to his early season form here against the Bruins. Coach Hokie Effect will need him to be sharp in throwing to Sophomore wideouts Bryce Treggs and Chris Harper in order for the Golden Bears to return to Berkeley with a win.
UCLA's only blemish on the season is a 3 point loss to now #6 Nebraska. Last week they were on the other end of a close game, beating Utah 17-14. They hope to do the same this week against Cal. After a stunning Freshman campaign, Sophomore QB Brett Hundley has not put up the big numbers as expected, but has still been efficient with the ball. Coach Cgreen214 will need him to be at the top of his game in order for the Bruins to stay undefeated in conference play.
