Kansas came out flat and wasn’t able to move the ball on the ground at all in the 1st half. WVU was able to score with 8 seconds remaining in the half on a bomb to tie it up at 14. Kansas dominated the 2nd half 28-3 behind the arm of Mike Cummings. Everybody contributed on offense and it just took the defense a while to get going. Backup HB Darrian Miller once again performed better than starter James Sims, but both had good games.
Mike Cummings (QB)- 15-25 for 335 yards, 2 TD, INT, rush TD
James Sims (HB)- 14 carries for 42 yards, 2 TD, 1 reception for 60 yards
Darrian Miller (HB)- 12 carries for 114 yards, TD
DJ Beshears (WR)- 6 receptions for 121 yards, TD
Kale Pick (WR)- 4 receptions for 51 yards, TD
Darius Willis (MLB)- 10 tackles, 2 TFL, sack
FSU defeats Hurricanes 31-3 It was a game that was much closer then the score implies as FSU came away with a victory thanks to a 21 point 3rd quarter. The first half was uneventful as both teams traded field goals. RB Chris Thompson gave the Seminoles a 7 point lead when he an inside handoff 25 yards for a touchdown. Following a nice 17 yard run by QB Ryan Williams, the Hurricane QB threw an errant pass which CB Xavier Rhodes stepped in front of and returned 46 yards for a touchdown. Following a punt FSU drove down the field and scored another touchdown when RB James Wilder punched it in from a yard out. FSU's defense scored the final touchdown of the game when Everett Dawkins sacked Williams and forced a fumble which was picked up by reserve CB Nick Waisome for a 38 yard return and touchdown.
