just like the coach, crying after the LSU loss!

coach Fred Limbo just thought he and the gaters were ready for those tigers! it was a really close and fun game though. mistakes on both sides at the end of the game resulted in 2 late TD's for each team. some really good defense played by both coaches. really looking forward to playin fred again in the SEC champ. game! until then fred you are the little brother getting picked on now! lol ScreenHunter_04 Mar. 22 20.31.gif

#3 Michigan uses late surge and Defense to defeat Minnesota

Michigan had only 24 yards of offense at halftime and found themselves down 17-7! The Wolverines only score came on a fumble return by the defense while Minnesota was able to covert 3rd down after 3rd down using in routes and slant routes over the middle. The highly explosive offensive of Michigan couldn't not do anything as the Golden Gophers seemed to be in the huddle with Michigan! They lined up perfectly every time and seemed to know what the play call was!
Minnesota scored defensively in the 1st half when an Outside Backer jumped an option pitch and took it back for a TD to give Minnesota the early 1st Quarter lead of 14-0.
With just under 2 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter, Minnesota missed a FG when it bounced off the cross bar. Michigan finally got an offensive drive going and would score with with 6:50 to play in the game to make it 17-14.
After the Kickoff, Minnesota dropped back on the 2nd play from scrimmage and Michigan picked off a pass and took it back for a TD! This gave Michigan the lead 21-17. On Minnesota next possession a tipped ball by a Michigan defender allowed another Michigan defender to pick another pass off setting Michigan up in Golden Gopher territory! Minnesota held and forced Michigan to kick a FG to take the 24-17 lead.
Michigan forced a punt and would score again when they put their 2nd offensive drove together to take the commanding lead 31-17. After another forced punt, Michigan tacked on another TD to make the Final 38-17.
Michigan exploded for 31 unanswered points in the 4th Quarter but due in large part to their defensive who scored 14 points in this game and set up other scoring opportunities. The offense struggled! Denard Robinson was 4-13 passing and was 1-7 passing at halftime. As Coach Hokie stated after the game: " Thank God for our Defense today, they both kept us in it and won it for us. OUR OFFENSE WAS PATHETIC! We will get some things fixed this week in Practice...I PROMISE YOU THAT!"
    Next Week
#3 Michigan will host their Rival #19 Michigan State...they had better get some things fixed offensively or it could be a long day at the BIG HOUSE!
