Saints Defense Creams Colts 44-21 NEW ORLEANS- It took nearly two years for the rematch, but in the end it was again the Colts celebrating a win over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. However this time, instead of relying on their vaunted offense it was the Saints defense that was most impressive. They held the Colts to just 213 yards of total offense, including just 156 by Peyton Manning through the air. They also were stifling against the run, allowing only 57 yards to Donald Brown. Drew Brees continued his MVP form this season with an impressive 300 yard, 3 touchdown performance. His only blemish, was a badly thrown ball on the goalline that was intercepted and retured 100 yards for a Colts touchdown. That score gave the Colts hope midway through the 3rd quarter, when they trailed 38-21. However a couple of Garrett Hartley field goals down the stretch would seal the Saints 7th consecutive win to start the season. Lance Moore led the Saints with 113 yards receiving, including one long touchdown on a playaction pass that was beautifully thrown by Brees. The Colts continue to struggle with an interim head coaching staff this season. As they look for stability, they also look towards a draft to try to rebuild their roster for a few more runs before Peyton Manning rides off into the sunset. -------------------- GG Hospital_heff .
