The NFC South has been tough to predict this season. The season has been comprised of a lot of ups and downs, even at this stage. The Falcons came into this contest after already suffering a defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. In that game, the Falcons were on their back heels the whole time. The Falcons would have to play better to get a win against the tough Saints.

    First Quarter

The First quarter started out with a lot of back and forth. Neither team could really get on the board. Finally the Falcons were able to put a TD on the board. The offense started out in a strong set, the first read was Julio on a streak on the left side, but he was covered well. The second read was Roddy White on the right side making a hook pattern. The saints came out in a 4-3 and rushed with the ROLB but not before a slight hesitation and look at Reggie Bush out of the backfield. The ROLB committed to attacking the QB. Matt Ryan had to check down for fear of being sacked. Once Reggie Bush caught the ball the field opened up, the only defensive player with a shot at him was being blocked by Julio Jones. A 1 yard pass turned into a 35 yard touchdown...and the only score of the quarter.

    Second Quarter

The Falcons added a couple of Ryan Longwell field goals in the second quarter. The first touchdown of the quarter came from a Drew Brees pass thrown to A. Roberts for a 20 yard score. The score was now 13-7 Atlanta. The Saints drove all the way down to the Falcons territory and it looked like a TD was eminent. Drew Brees thre a pass in the endzone that he wishes he could have back. Instead of the Saints going up by one with a TD pass, the Falcons safety William Moore intercepted the pass in the endzone. Back.Breaker. William Moore ran for an untouched 101-yd INT TD return leaving 22 seconds on the clock before halftime.

    Third Quarter

Matt Ryan would record a 42 TD Pass to Roddy White in the third quarter. It would be the last offensive touchdown of the game. The play had Roddy White lined up on the right side. The intention was to take a strike downfield on that play, but only if the safety ignored Roddy White completely. Once I saw the SS take two steps towards the TE, I knew the deep ball was getting thrown up. The defender was in good position actually, but Roddy White jumped up and came down with the catch for a TD. The next score would be a Matt Ryan INT for a TD. Saints K.Lewis returned a 38 yard INT for a TD.

    Fourth Quarter

First year Falcon CB Antonio Cromartie from FSU finally made a play that turned heads and validated the costly FA signing. Cromartie returned an INT on an out route for 36 yards and a score. This was the last play of the game.
