    Alabama Edges Kentucky
    Avoids Upset in 5 OT

Lexington, KY- Kentucky isn't known for their homefield advantage, nor are they known for their strong football program, but both aspects surprised the visiting Alabama Crimson Tide in the Bear Bowl.

Alabama has gotten used to riding TJ Yeldon in the run game, but even he didn't expect to have the game he did Saturday. There hasn't been a running back put the Alabama offense on his back like that since Shaun Alexander was rumbling into the endzone at Bryant-Denny. Yeldon carried 45 times for 338 yards and 7 scores, including an incredible 25 yard yard score in the 3rd overtime.

Alabama held Kentucky to 14 yards of offense until midway through the second quarter, and then the Wildcats turned into demigods and totalled 448 yards over a 2 and a half quarters to lock the Tide into a long battle.

In overtime Kentucky and Alabama punched and counter punched until Johnathan Allen decided he'd had enough and came up with back to back sacks on 2nd and 3rd down to force Kentucky into a 4th and very long. The QB lofted a pass toward the endzone and the WR made the catch but was unable to drag a foot sealing a 68-62 5OT win for Alabama.

    Records Tied/broken
Johnathan Allen: 6 Sacks (tied national record)
TJ Yeldon: 7 TD's (broke national record and school record) 338 yards rushing (broke Alabama record)

EDIT: Forgot to mention I actually blocked an extra point. The guy that always breaks through the line didn't dive. For some reason he jumped up and swatted the kick away. Made me happy.

(AP) Fayetteville - The Razorbacks held serve at home to stay undefeated in conference play with a 37-21 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Hogs overcame 4 interceptions and may have finally found their starting QB in the process. Brandon Allen, the SR-QB was the starter and was pulled after 3 INTs to be replaced by SO-QB Rafe Peavey. Peavey finished 16-20, 167 yds 1TD/1INT and also pitched in with 82 yards rushing, 1 TD on 16 carries. The defense was led by Darius Philon with 6 tackles including a sack. Next week the Razorbacks travel to Alabama for a SEC West showdown.
