    Week 7 summaries

Wyoming invited 9 recruits to the Utah game and Wyoming came in with a Bad attitude. They have been upset with their play all year and this week they proved that they are not playing around anymore this year. Wyoming knocked out utah starting qb Wynn for 12 weeks with a broken collarbone. They made him fumble twice on option plays and returned one for a td. They also picked him off once. They were out there for blood this week hitting everyone hard as they could. Offensively they played well except for the fumbles. Passing the ball this week they were near perfect. They dismantled Utah in everyway and won the game 35-25

La Tech goes to 1-5 after a thriller in OT

Louisiana Tech came into this week battling against all odds with an 0-5 record. Young quarterback Ross Jenkins has played well in the new coaches scheme, but last week against Utah State the offense just could not move the ball. This week started off the same way, when an ill advised throw cost the Bulldogs seven points. Idaho ended up jumping out to a 21-0 lead, because of the interception and two punts.

After the first quarter, things changed. Coach Bob was seen on the sideline stewing mad, and the team knew it was time to do something. Halfback Lennon Creer ended up providing most of the punch, scoring two touchdowns and the Bulldogs would end up scoring 3 touchdowns in the final 5 minutes of the first half to tie the game at 21. The third quarter was all Tech, and they jumped out to a 31-21 lead. 31 unanswered points for the Bulldogs at this point. The Vandals were resilient, and showed heart when wide receiver Maurice Shaw broke three tackles on his way to a 56 yard scamper, cutting the lead for the Bulldogs. 31-28. Creer came back on the very first play from scrimmage after the Vandals TD. He scored on a nifty 76 yard touchdown that would put the Bulldogs ahead 38-28. Idaho still would not go away, and they ended up tieing the game at 38 with no time left in regulation.

On to Overtime we go, and the Bulldogs won the toss. Selecting to play on defense, Tech ended up holding the Vandals to a Field Goal. This would put Idaho ahead for only the second time in the game. With a three point lead, the Vandal defense seemed poised to stop the Bulldogs. But Quarterback Ross Jenkins made a nice read at the line scrimmage. With the blitz coming, Jenkins audibled out of the play and hit his TE over the top for the game winning touchdown! Finally, Louisiana Tech wins!

That sounded like an incredible game there Bob.

CSU turned in a pretty big performance in the heart of "The Strip". UNLV hosted conference opponent CSU. Coach Cimmy has his boys ready to play. CSU took a 17-6 lead into the 4th quarter, but UNLV kept chipping away. The difference in the game was a missed extra point and a missed FG by UNLV. Incredible game Cimmy, was not decided until the end. 24-19 CSU

The Aztecs relished their first win of the season. Just when things were looking very dim, and off the heels of a crushing defeat at the hands of BYU, the troops rallied and soundly beat the Air Force Falcons.

The defense was the key, as SDSU registered 5 sacks as they applied constant pressure to the mobile Jefferson, who could not escape the rush.

On offense, there were some bright spots. Ryan Lindley spread the ball around, but failed to reach the end zone through the air. Two costly interceptions killed Aztec drives and kept the score respectable.

Next up for the Aztecs are the New Mexico Lobos. Hopefully SDSU can build up some momentum.
