Houston doesn't give up, and mounts a furious comeback.

Trailing 21-0 in the second quarter, an upset appeared to be in the making. The ECU Pirates were taking it to the Cougars and looked unstoppable.

While ECU would sneak in a couple of field goals, the Cougars found their stride and rattled off a string of touchdowns, mostly through an arial assault. Cotton Turner continues to be inaccurate at times, but he did connect on several long bombs to get points on the board quickly and to give Houston a sense that they may win the game.

Once the game was in hand, the previously anemic Cougar running game was surprisingly effective. Houston could not get the ground attack working, but when it came time to chew the clock the ECU defense appeared to fold and allowed a string of first downs, even allowing Houston's qaurterback to stride into the endzone from 12 yards away on a simple QB dive. The tides had clearly turned, a game that looked lost turned into a drubbing.
