    Week 7

The Titans and Colts started week 7 off with a bang. First off thanks to hoytpower seriously for stepping in as as sub owner. Second a sarcastic thanks for injuring Chris Johnson for 3-4 weeks with broken ribs.

The Titans started off really rocky. After forcing the Colts to punt we accidentally called for a fair catch on the 2 yard line while trying to run out of the way and let the ball go in for a touchback. Three plays later it was time to punt. The Colts capitalized on the field position and went up 7-0. The game was tight all the way through and the Colts led at halftime 10-7.

    2nd half----------------------------------------------------------------

Tennesse found solice in 3rd sting running back Javon Ringer. The third year pro carried the ball 9 times for about 50 yards rushing and kept the defense honest. Tennesee went up 14-10 in the third quarter and then tacked on a FG late in the 4th quarter to go up 17-10. Peyton Manning wasn't going to take no for an answer though. He rallied his team up and drove the length of the field as the Colts tied the game 17-17 with :04 secs left in the game. OVERTIME

    OT---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Colts won the toss and had all the momentum. However on one of the first few plays of the period the Titans all everything linebacker Keith Bulluck layed a crushing blow on an Indy receiver jarring the ball loose on the sidelines and rookie FS Davon Morrison swooped it up just inches from going out of bounds and ran it back 46 yards for the game winning TD! Tennessee pulls to 3-3 on the year now. Titans-23 Colts-17

*Thanks again Hoyt for stepping in and playing. Both of my last two games have been classics to me and the reason I love playing this damn game! Good luck with your Pitt team too. If you play like you did then I'm sure you will go on a run this year.

Falcons went into Ford field to take on the Lions . It was a close game throughout , until the 2nd Half . Micheal Turner was the story here , running like a house on fire , scorching the Lions for 165yds on 21 carries and 2 TD . The Score was tied at 14 after the 1st half . The Falcons took a 17-14 lead misway through the 3rd only to see the lions tie it up . Then Turner took a toss and turned the corner for 21 yds and the TD . Having the lead in the 4th the Falcons handed the Ball to turner and he caught the Lions on a blitz and broke the game open with a 47 yd TD Run . Matthew Stafford tried to get the lions going only to throw a late pick . GG Scared

I have no idea what happen on this game on my end but, that FG to tie should have been a TD he clear it made it across the GL (I hit TO instead of challenge so it didn't get reviewed). Stafford passing was way off the mark throwing 4 key ints. Some games it can't miss others he can't hit a barn. Anyways, gg bud

    Steelers at Browns

    The Dawg Pound -
    [IMG]

The Steelers came into the POUND for the 1st time this yr and although the score doesn't reflect it,they got their bells rung.

The Browns had 337 yrds total offense to the Steelers 131.

In the first the scoring started early as Shuan McDonald caught a 11 yrd pass from Rothlisberger for a TD and 7-0 Steelers lead.

But the Browns pushed back when Pierre Thomas scored on a 5 yrd run to tie the game.

In the 2nd Lawrence Vickers the beastly FB pounded in a 2 yrd run for a 14-7 and the Browns were cruising then S Logan took the next KO 96 yrds to the house to tie the game.

The Browns however did manage to chip down field and with 2 seconds on the clock b4 half kick a FG and go into the half with a 3 pt lead.

The Steelers after the half would kick off and hold the Browns and get the ball back, but they would only manage a FG to tie the game.

The game would go back and forth with punts til with just under 2 mins the Browns got a TD from Pierre Thomas, his 2nd of the day as he finished with 101 yrds on 24 carries.

The D would hold the Steelers down as they had no timeouts remaining and the Browns got another tough win in the division and improved to 4-2 on the yr.

Derek Anderson who the game before threw 5 INTS was 15-24 for 218 yrds with no TDs and NO INTS.

Both Braylon Edwards and Vernon Davis had some key catches in this game but none were for TDs.

David Veikune the young MLB who has no where to play bc of ALL GOD MLB Brian Urlacher got the start at OLB and responded with 3T,2SCK,1 FFMB.

For the Steelers Rothlisberger struggled all game as he had 1 TD and 1 INT with just 75 yrds on 8 of 23 passing.

Fast Willie Parker led them in rushing with 56 yrds on 10 carries.

The Browns for the 1st game this yr had no INTs thrown and gave up NO SACKS!!

gg hoyt see ya next time in Pitt, great played game.

    Texans defeat Bengals 34-24

Texans fans excited about their current 4 game winning streak were even more excited to see how the new offense would look with the addition of Anquan Boldin. Despite one of the best individual defensive performances in recent memory by Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers who had 8 tackles 7 for loss 4 sacks and an INT, the Texans behind Steve Slaton who rushed 13 times for 207 yards adding 4 catches for 77 yards and Anquan Boldin who caught 4 passes for 131 yards and 1 TD were able to get the victory. The difference in this game was the Texans defense who allowed 59 rushing yards and forcing 4 int's.

The Bengals Ocho Cinco caught 8 passes for 252 yards and 2 TD's and Carson Palmer completed 20 of 39 for 375 yards 3 TD's and 4 INTS.

    Good Game Stealth!

    Vikings 31 Packers 3

The Vikings and Packers renewed their rivalry Sunday in a game that left many players on both teams liming into the locker room when the game was over. While the scoreboard told the story of a dominating Viking victory, reality was the game was a bloodbath on both sides from start to finish. Viking coach Tank Willis was not suprised as his pregame prediction was summed up in one word. "Pain".

The Vikings looked to take advantage of the Packers aggresive safeties early in the game, and hit big with a nice Quinn pump fake that allowed the speedy Percy Harvin to get behind the defense for an early TD, Harvins first of the year. That play would be the start of a big game for Harvin, who would finish with 5 catches for 137yds and 2 TDs on the day on his way to Player of the Game honors. Unfortunately, it would be Quinns lone highlight, as the Packers D would knock him out for the game on the Vikings next drive.

The Vikings D would respond, knocking Rogers senseless shortly thereafter. Rogers would leave for the rest of the half, leaving the offense without its triggerman in a hostile environment. Minnesotas D would take advantage, forcing 2 Matt Flynn INTs, and 2 more from a hobbled and frightened Rogers upon his return;)

Sage Rosenfels, who replaced Quinn, would also get off to a rocky start. But after his first pass was picked off, he hit 14 straight completions, including a 39 yard TD to Harvin and a short pass to unheralded 2nd year receiver Brooks Foster who raced 54 yards for the score. Foster would also have his biggest game of the year, catching 5 passes for 116yds and a TD.

Afterwards coach Willis had nothing but respect for the Packers and their coach. "Since taking over the Packers midway through the 09 season, coach DSoldier has turned that team around. On top of being a tough opponent on Sundays, Soldier has also done agreat job in the front office adding draft day studs like Leron James and Jackson Hailes, who both have bright futures in this league. It is a team we aren't looking forward to playing again in a few weeks", coach Willis said.

Next up for Minnesota is a visit from the Saints before heading into their bye week. The Packers will look to regroup against last years division winner the Chicago Bears, who have struggled early on this season.

    Notable performers:
Ian Johnson - nice TD Homey!
Nnamdi - 1 pick and just another great performance!!
Ced Griffin - 2 more picks giving him 6 on the season. Nnamdis' BFF.
Allen and Greenway - 2 sacks apiece and great run containment.
    S. Rosenfels - 14/16 - 2 TDs - 1int

GG Drunken. Despite lopsided loss, I won't be looking forward to playing you again either. See ya in 2 weeks!

    Cowboys @ Redskins

The Boys would travel to D.C. to play their long time rivals the Redskins. The game would start off with the Cowboys getting the ball first and promptly scoring on a long 3 min drive that ended in a 33 yd Td pass from Romo to Berrian. On the ensuing Skins drive Clinton Portis would answer back 67 yd Td run to tie the game up at 7. Romo and the Cowboys would go on another 3 min drive and end it with another Td pass to Berrian this time from 18 yds out. After that the wheels seemed to fall off for the Skins as Campbell would get pressured and throw a pass directly to Cowboys Mlb Williams who would take it 36 yds for the Td to give the BOys a 21-7 lead. On the very next Skins drive Portis would fumble the ball after a big hit again Mlb Williams would pick the ball up and this time sprint 60 yds on the fumble recovery for a Td. What looked to be a close tight game at the start had quickly turned into a blow out it seemed with the Cowboys holding a commanding 28-7 lead after one qtr.

The Scoring wouldn't stop in the 2nd qtr as the Cowboys would add a Fg to increase their lead to 31-7. The Skins would be able to answer back with a Fg of their own to get back with in 21 pts 31-10. After a Romo Interception the Skins seemed to be on a roll but once again Portis would fumble and Cowboys Cb Jenkins would return it 21 yds for the Td to give the Boys a 38-10 lead. Now the Skins start going to their passing game to try and get back into the game and it would work as Campbell would hit Thomas for a 8 yd Td pass. With the 1st half quickly running out the Cowboys started to drive down the field to try and get some points on the board before halftime since the Skins would get the ball first in the 2nd half. The Boys would be able to kick a 50 yd Fg with 13 secs left in the half to push their lead to 41-17. On the ensuing kickoff the Cowboys would kick a squib kick but the only problem was nobody seemed to want to tackle the returner until after he was in Fg range for the Redskins. The Redskins would promptly kick a 53 yd fg to close out the 1st half with the score 41-20 in favor of the Cowboys. In the 2nd half there would be no scoring until 4 mins left in the 4th qtr when the Redskins would try to comeback as Campbell would run it in from 1 yd out. That would make the score 41-27 with 4 mins left in the game and now the game is on. The Cowboys offense would not be able to put anymore points on the board but they would be able to take time off clock behind the legs of Marian Barber and rookie Rb Keller. The Skins however would get the ball back and be able to score with 1:01 left in the game on a 6 yd Td pass to Barter to get back within seven points 41-34. Since they already used their timeouts up on the Cowboys previous possesion they would try for an onside kick and fail and the Cowboys would be able to kneel the clock out.

Cowboys go up big early but almost give it away but hold on for a 41-34 win.

    Cardinals (4-1) at Rams (5-0)

The game of week 7 pitted the undefeated Rams hosting the one loss cardinal in this divsion rivalry.

Steven Jackson ended up the endzone on the rams first possession but a holding penalty forced them into a 1st and goal from the 18 yard line. 2 plays later rams qb mark bulger threw a td pass to slot receiver Robinson to bail out the rams with a score.
The rams defense was porous in the first quarter but held the high-power cardinals to only a FG.

Both defenses stiffened up early in the second and both teams traded feildgoals to make the score 10-6 halfway through the second. The cardinals defense was excellent in bringing the heat and slowing down Jackson and forcing the bulger to get first downs and keep the rams ahead. The rams stole all momentum in the second with a 49 yard touchdown pass to Robinson again to make it 17-6 rams. After a 3 and out by the cardinals, bulger saw a all out blitz coming his way and audibled out of the run play to a short dump off to Jackson in the flat. The result of the play was a 34 yard td for Jackson, his first of the game. On the next possession, Cardinals qb Matt Ryan threw a pick to boss bailey who returned it for the score. In a matter of one and half mins of game time, the rams blew the lead up to 31-6.

In the second half, the rams focused on getting the running game rolling again. Steven Jackson mostly faced heavy blitzing from 9 defenders in the box but piled up the yards and kept to Time of possession favoring the Rams. The only score the cardinals could manage was a 19 yard td pass to Jones late in the 4th. The cardinals defense kept the rams out of the end zone all half as they managed only to put up 3 points.
    Score Rams(6-0) 34 Cardinals(4-2) 17

    Players of the game:
    Mark Bulger - 10-13 143 yards 3 TDs
    Steven Jackson - 29 rush 137 yards, 4 rec 49 yards 1 TD

The rams still are the only undefeated team left and put it to their closest division rival in take a 2 game division lead 7 weeks into the season. Going forward the rams look to continue their dominance and improve on their already top 5 offense and defense.

    Jets 42, Bears 28

The 1-4 Bears traveled to the Meadowlands to take on the 1-5 Jets where seats were easy to find. After falling behind 21-7 in the 1st half courtesy of an efficient Bears' offense, the small, feisty crowd let their feelings known to the Jets. They headed to the locker room at halftime to a chorus of boos.

Perhaps those boos were a wakeup call to the Jets, as they erupted for 28 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter to take a 35-21 lead into the final frame. In that 3rd quarter, Jets' QB Mark Sanchez connected for 2 TD passes and also ran 1 in from 19 yards out.

The Bears opened the 4th quarter with a long, efficient drive that was capped by a Jack English to Kellen Davis TD. That brought Chicago to within a TD and seemed to set up a great finish. But on the ensuing kickoff, Leon Washington scampered 95 yards for his third kickoff return for a TD this season. That put NY back up by 14, and seemed to deflate the Bears with only 5 minutes remaining.

Jets hang on for the 42-28 win. Nice game Scar.
