Murfreesburo, TN. In a rematch of last year's Conference-USA championship game, Utah State and Mid Tenn State entered with a combined 3-10 record. Utah State hoped to avenge last year's loss, as well as keep their bowl hopes alive. It didn't look good early though, as MTSU runningback DD Kyles gave the Aggies flashbacks to last year, breaking off two runs of over 50 yards and taking a early 17-3 lead. To make things worse, after it seemed a starting QB had finally been decided, Freshman Brown went down with injury and will be out for next week as well. Junior Fischer came in and led the offense to 17 points before half on two touchdown passes and a field goal, to take a 20-17 lead. But in the 3rd quarter Kyles went struck again on a 62 yard run out of the option to take a 24-20 lead. Fischer would answer on the next drive on a 12 yard touchdown pass. Utah State went for the kill late in the 4th in the red zone, when Fischer threw an INT that nearly cost the Aggies the game. The Blue Raiders had one last chance to win the game, but junior Cache Morgan took an interception back for a TD, his fourth carreer pick 6. Next week, the Ags face another winless team in UL Monroe.
