A note on the read option: The read option is obviously a very potent play. Some league's on this site severely limit it or even ban it entirely. I'm not going to do that because the read is a huge aspect of college football. That being said, the read option shouldn't be used as a crutch for a running game when there are other play calling options. This isn't a new rule, this is consistent with the idea that SIM play requires the user to mix up his play calling and be dynamic.

If your not a team with the personal to run the read and you haven't commited to an option-run system, then you really shouldn't be running it much at all. And if you do have the personnel and you've committed to the spread-option system (think Oregon, Ohio State, Arizona IRL) then you are committing to running a variety of option plays. That means you need to mix in the other types of options such as speed, power and load. If you want to use your QB as a runner you should also be using wrap, power, blast and draw plays. And when you do run the read option it should come out of a variety of sets, not just the same 1-2 formations. If you have any questions let me know.

Jbek and I are playing in week 9. The only time we can really do this is tomorrow at noon. So all Week 8 games must be played before that, because an advance will be coming tomorrow at noon EST, but hopefully earlier.

Probably just an athlete that can play both positions. You can choose whichever you want him to be during offseason position changes

For whatever reason, athletes are listed as their best OVR position in the weekly recaps on dynasty wire. They are also considered that position for the competitive visits. You're obviously welcome to place him at tight end when we get to the offseason

MILLER REAGINS FORM IN BUCKEYES WIN
    [IMG]
    42 - 28
Even as a mid-season Heisman favorite, Braxton Miller hasn't lived up to some of the very lofty preseason expectations set by Buckeye Nation. Ohio State faithful were hoping that Miller would elevate his game as a passer in his third year behind center for the Buckeyes, but through six games Miller looked much like the indecisive and sometimes inaccurate passer from a season ago. That all changed on Saturday as Miller had his best passing game to date in the win against a solid Iowa Hawkeyes team.
In all, the junior quarterback completed 30-of-36 attempts for 306 yards and 5 scores. Miller also pulled a Houdini act on a 41-yard rushing touchdown in which he juked and dodged five Hawkeye defenders and walked into the endzone untouched for what was likely his most electrifying run of the season. But even considering his heroics as a runner, Miller's best play came on a throw on the final play of the third quarter. With the game tied at 21, Miller faked a handoff to Dontre Wilson and immediately noticed that the defense was collpasing the pocket. Buying time, Braxton rolled out to the left, stopped just short of the line of scrimmage and launched a perfect pass off his back foot to a wide-open Ezekiel Elliot in the endzone for a 34-yard score (highlight on dynasty wire).
Miller was aided in large part by standout hybrid Philly Brown. In some ways, Brown has been overshadowed by the play of his understudy, freshman Dontre Wilson. But against the Hawkeyes Brown took center stage as he caught a career-high 12 passes for 103 yards and 2 scores. Brown also had his best run of the season, a 31-yard scamper off a Jet Sweep.
The Buckeyes will now turn their attention to rival Penn State and coach Jbek. A bevy of talented high school prospects are expected to be in attendance for a game that should help clear up the B1G picture.
    Game Notes
= Braxton Miller threw for a season-high 306 yards on 30-36 passing. He scored a total of 6 touchdowns
= Philly Brown caught 12 passes for 103 and 2 scores
= Ohio State averaged more than 8 yards per play

Johnny back in Heisman form in 49-24 win
After a close game against Ole Miss in Oxford where Manziel had issues passing the football, the young man stepped up BIG upon returning home to face Auburn. The game started out a bit shaky. Tiger QB Nick Marshall took the second play of the game 66 yards for a TD on a scramble. He literally ran over an Aggie Defensive End in the process. Manziel and Co answered on the next drive with and 8 yard TD run. The scored 28 straight points before Auburn caught a lucky break on a big pass right before halftime, settling for a FG. 28-10 ATM
The Aggies played keep away in the third quarter with the defense stifling the opposing offense and A&M playing ball control with the running game and precision passing. They would score two more TDs before Auburn would get on the board again with just over 3 minutes left in the game. 42-14 Aggies. Manziel would take his last snap on the next drive after Auburns score. He took a routine run and broke it for 47 due to the Tiger's over pursuit and blitzing to the wrong side.
The next drive by Auburn resulted in one of the most messed up plays I have ever seen. After a short gain the Auburn hurry up no huddle had two OL right on top of each other, obviously a glitch. Then, after the snap, instead of playing Cover 2 Man, as called, the A&M defense inexplicably just all ran toward the QB, leaving a WR wide open on the outside for a 69 yard TD. This play was seriously fucked up and I am going to report it the Bugs thread. If this had been a close game I would have flipped shit. Take a look at pictures and video I took of it on the Dynasty Web. If any of you see the OL messed up pre-play, call a time out right away or risk getting messed with. In a close game that could be a loss.
Johnny Manziel was lights out this week, 15/17 and one of his incompletions was a drop by the TE. He spread the ball out between 6 different receivers as well. Hopefully he can keep that up the rest of the year.
    Stats:
    Manziel - 15/17 224 and 1 TD, 142 rushing yards and 3 TDs
Ben Malena - 91 yards and 3 TDs
Mike Evans - 4 rec. for 67 yards

I just realized that I forgot to pass for over 250 yards to meet visit goals for multiple recruits! Crap! That's what I get for taking my foot off the gas and running for the entire 4th quarter.

Also of note, in tonight's game A&M D-End Tyrell Taylor tied the school single game sack record of 5! This gives him 9 on the season.

He ate the opposing OTs lunch. CPU scrambling QBs also seem to tuck it and run rather quickly and their QB ran right into him a couple times.

    Wisconsin downs Illini 41-14
Jared Abbrederis started off the scoring frenzy when he returned a punt, after Illinois went 3 and out on the first drive of the game, 76 Yds for the score. At, the end of the first quarter the score was still 7-0 Badgers. Wisconsin did most of their damage in the 2nd quarter as James White caught fire and scored from 2 and 16 Yds out and Kyle French kicked a 46 Yd FG. Illinois found a way to finally put points on the board. End of the second quarter and the Badgers are now leading 24-7. There was only one score in the 3rd and that was a 10 Yd pass from McEvoy to Pedersen. End of 3, score 31-7. At the begining of the fourth McEvoy finds Duckworth for the score from 15Yds off. Soon after the Badgers called the dogs off, French connects on a 17 Yd FG to make the score 41-7. With little to no time left the Illini punch the ball in to the endzone to make it 41-14.
    WISCONSIN
    McEvoy 18-23 178 2TD
    White 18-123-2
    Gordon 12-37
    McEvoy 5-4
    Abbrederis 7-52
    Borland 9Tkl 3Tfl 2Sacks
The Badgers are Idle next week,
Next game is Week 10 v Iowa
