Alabama's streak now at five after rolling Ole Miss 49-21
Since Nick Saban pulled senior QB AJ McCarron after the Duke game in favor of junior QB Phillip Sims the Crimson Tide of Alabama have rolled everyone they have played with relative ease and have been averaging 41.6 points per game. Stepping up during this streak has been sophomore WR Joe Atkins who has caught 37 balls for 885 yards through seven games and nine TD receptions with the majority coming in the past six games.
QB Phillip Sims had a huge day going 17 for 28 377 YDS 3 TDS and 1 INT with scores tossed from 44, 36, and 0 YDS out including a 15 YD scamper. Joe Atkins had another monster day reeling in 9 balls for 206 YDS and a TD. Eddie Lacy carried the rock 10 times for 72 YDS and 1 TD from 16 YDS out. Next week Alabama will remain at home and take on rival Tennessee (4-2).

Big plays lead to FSU win
The Seminoles got off to a great start scoring 38 points in the opening half and crusied to a 51-14 thumping of Maryland. After FSU got off to a 3-0 lead Telvin Smith laid a huge hit to Terrapin RB DJ Adams who fumbled the ball which was picked up by DT Demonte McAllister who rumbled 34 yards for the score. After the defense forced a 3 and out Florida State QB Clint Trickett needed one play to hook up with WR Jared Haggins for a 44 yard touchdown. Maryland managed to do better on their next possession driving down inside the FSU 10 but QB Danny O'Brien threw an errant pitch that was picked up by CB Keelin Smith and returned 89 yards for another defensive score.
The second quarter saw Trickett complete 2 more long touchdown passes. One that went 57 yards to WR Kenny Shaw and another of 46 yards to WR Greg Dent. With the backups seeing playing time in the 2nd half half Maryland managed to play much better reaching the endzone twice. FSU Backup RB Devonta Freeman added 2 rushing touchdowns for the Seminoles.

    Clemson rolls 31-6 over Virginia

Down 3-0 after one 3rd string rb DJ Howard scored from 23 yards out to give the Tigers a 10-6 HT lead. In the 2nd half it was Mike Bellamy time. Since starter Roderick McDowell seem to be having a rough day, the SOPH picked up the slack. After a 3rd QTR pick by JR Bashard Breeland, Bellamy scored from 15yards out to make it a 17-6 lead and that held true to the end of the QTR. In the 4th Bellamy hit pay dirt from 39 and 63yards out to complete the scoring.

    POG...Bellamy 8 rushes 146 yards and 3td's

Defense had 5 sacks and 3 picks. Breeland had 2 picks and JR LB Garry Peters had the other pick.

Miami gets all it can handle in a pesky NC State squad. The game was back and forth and it looked as if Miami was going to let the game slip away, but a masterful drive by QB Ryan Williams that sucked 5 minutes off the clock in the 4th quarter ended with a TD and helped give them just enough of a lead to hold on for the win.

It was a pretty close game all the way up until the 4th quarter. That ended in the 4th quarter though when the Bulldog defense had 3 interceptions 1 of which was a pick 6 and one that almost was a pick 6 but ended up just 1 yards short. Both were picked by veteran CB Jordan Love. Aaron Murray was named player of the game throwing for 160 yards on 16 attempts and completed 10 of those for 3 touchdowns. Next week the Bulldogs Missouri at Missouri in what should be another easy victory.
