    Week 8 Game Summaries

Mizzou dropped a huge rivalry game against Texas, losting to the Longhorns 24-17 on the road.

The game started out closely as both teams played hard and were tied up at 7 all after the first qtr. Then Texas began to steal away the momentum as they strung together at least 5 big plays, 2 that led to long td's putting away any chance the Mizzou would be able to steal away the road victory.

"We just didn't have an answer to some of the speed they had at certain positions." Said Coach PK. "We played on our heels and out of position for most of the game at it cost us even a chance to get a win. We've got some huge adjustments to make before we play out the rest of the schedule."

This week, the Miami Hurricanes travelled to Duke with a new head coach, new playbooks, and a generally new philosophy. The offense was led by Lee Chambers and the rushing attack, but Jacory Harris played pretty well from the quarterback position. Miami's defense was great all day, only giving up a couple of BIG plays. The Hurricanes defense also accounted for 14 points as they forced the Duke QB to fumble twice -- both of which were taken back to the house. These came on user-hit-sticks on the quarterback, which the coach described as "freakin amazingly fun".

Next week Miami faces off with Wake Forest and coach JC Spartan for an in-conference user game.

Good game between Carter n I. LSU needed a Win here after getting embarrassed by Florida last week. 1st half was toe to toe but LSU ended up taking a 21-14 lead with 20 seconds left by a goal line run from Holliday. Final: LSU 38 - SC Cocks 17. QB Jefferson threw for 214 yards, 17-21 with 1 TD and 1 INT. Holliday had a career day and was the center piece of the offense with 241 yards on 30 attempts with 4 td's. Most of the yards where scrap 4th Q yards though. Senior FS C. Taylor had 2 tackles and 2 picks. Good Game Carter.
