Saints Brees by Rams 49-17 St. Louis, MO- The heavily favored New Orleans Saints took their version of The Greatest Show on Turf and rocked the Rams to remain undefeated and in the drivers seat for the #1 seed in the NFC. The fans in St. Louis were probably remembering the golden years of the Franchise when Warner was throwing bombs to Bruce and Holt and leading his team to a Super Bowl Victory. This time it was Drew Brees throwing for 431 yards while completing passing to seven different receivers, including four different Saints who caught toughdown passes. Perhaps the most impressive of Brees' targets was tight end Jimmy Graham. The second year pro caught a game high six passes for 128 yards and a touchdowns, and made a couple of remarkable catch and runs that are sure to make all of the national highlight reels. New Orleans' defense was also very good again, although they got a break when Sam Bradford wasn't cleared to play. That meant they faced a struggling AJ Feely, who completed only 13 of 27 passes and also was intercepted once. Only a couple of remarkable Donnie Avery curl routes turned into long touchdown passes and put a blemish on a great all around effort by New Orleans. The running games were both effective with Mark Ingram and Steven Jackson both gaining over 100 yards on the day. Ingram seems to be settling in during his rookie campaign and taking some of the pressure off of Brees and the receiving corps. The Saints (8-0) return home to take on the Buccaneers (2-5) next week. That is a rematch of a game the Saints barely won a couple of weeks ago and should provide a nice challenge as they prepare for their Week 10 showdown against the Falcons on the road. ----------------- gg biggcoug65 thanks for subbing!
