Week 8 Summaries
The Chips lose to the Huskies 14-7
Rice 7 - UCF 49
Some would say that a game against 0-7 Rice is just prep work for upcoming games against Houston, Southern Miss & ECU. But once you throw the word rival in there, it could be a whole other type of game. This was not the latter. The Knights decided to sit a questionable Brynn Harvey just to make sure he is ready for the next few games. That would leave the majority of the workload for Soph RB Jonathan Davis. All you can ask from your back ups is that they play hard and Jonathan did just that. He would start of the scoring with a 2 yard TD rush in the 1st after pounding the ball down the field. Calabrese would have the next score on a nifty play-action, shrugging off defenders and passing to TE Willie Gaetjens. The 2nd quarter would see Rice’s first score of the game capping off a beautiful passing drive. UCF had only one FG this quarter, which is amazing since they had already missed an extra point and would miss a few more later on. 3rd quarter was all Knights. A couple of TD passes, a big 79 yard TD run by Davis and even FB Brendan Kelly would have a rushing TD. The Knights had the subs in by the 4th, just trying to run the clock down and put this one away. Back-up FB Billy Giovanetti did manage to find his way into the end-zone to put an end to the scoring. The Knights will have their sights set on making a run at the C-USA championship but have 3 big roadblocks in their path.
I frickin loss again. Coach is going Bobby Knight in the locker room.
mississipi state 10 mephis 28
well folks it was a great the air attck from mephis had the right calls and the players played great. the audibles where called the way they where supposed to play. At times there where some turnovers that caused the game but the defense showed up and played excellent. new caoch caudill did what he supposed to for this game a great caoching effort let see if the rival games can get a five star recruit next year. Recuit the recruits like he should.
